MSNBC | 8/28/03

MSNBC had an item on NEW rumblings about HRC running in 2004.. It was in conjunction with more on Wes Clark also getting serious about a run..Mentioned something about a 'high level mtg' that the OTHER Dem candidates were informed of.... Ickes has formed a 'soft money group' which could benefit HRC, and, again, some high level mtg about the possibility of her running. ..Nachman and Bill Press will be discussing this SOON on msnbc...tune in NOW.

There are plenty of short term bulls who see a big pullback next year-- like 1987. Is this a secular bear market? There is some evidence. This rally could be a secular bear rally-- fleeting. Many technical analysts don't like the market at all. The rally probably ran out of gas in June and is just sputtering along in a narrow trading range until it capitulates.

would suddenly switch their votes

I have a cousin who is liberal and has never even registered to vote. I loaned her Barbara Olson's book "Hell To Pay" and when she brought it back she said, " I will tell you one thing, if this woman ever runs for President, I will register and I will vote for anybody that is running against her, I don't care who it is"

Yeah, you're right, not a lick of interest here! LOL

What I meant was that it's all meaningless speculation. IF she runs, which I doubt will happen, she'll get slaughtered. But I guess those who are hopelessly and needlessly Hillary-obssessed need something to chatter about.

I don't think any men would vote for her.

she will not run in 2004, but it appears now she has to "fake a run" to weaken Dean, because she cannot afford to have a Dem win in 2004, and I think they are fearful of Dean mounting a campaign of the left combined with a Perot style populism, that might get him in. Rumors like this could swirl for months, and take the media attention away from Dean.

This news is about as shocking as a "bear craps in the woods" or an "Al Qaeda wants to kill us" story.

she gets an instant 43% of the vote; men, women, it doesn't matter. Then she get a few points as a "kicker" with moderate women who want to see a woman president. She would get no less then 46% of the popular vote as a losing candidate.

I AGREE 100%! Bring the witch on! We need to put the Clinton's away once and for all and the sooner the better.

"As the risk of being admonished:
What I meant was, if Hillary is RFK, who (by analogy) will play Sirhan Sirhan?"

I understand now. I'm the one who should be admonished.

If she wins the election, it may make relationships difficult.

My sister's support of Hillary is based upon the idea that "having a woman president in the WH, in my life-time, is wonderful!".

If Hillary wins, I don't know if I can accuse my sister of bringing the nation to ruin, but I can accuse her of voting sentimentally, while the future of her niece and nephew are at stake!

Thanks for the ping.Hillary will run only if she believes she will win it. I don't think she'll do it,but never say never. The ferocity of our negative opinion of Hillary is held by the left about Bush. The great middle is the deciding factor.Right now I believe Bush has more positives than Hillary.I never take any election for granted, however.

Let's hope you're wrong. There are others who say otherwise.

He's not McGovern. He can, and will, move sharply toward the political center for the general election if he gets the nomination. KEEP THOSE CLIPPINGS regarding his current far-left bloviations, because come '04 the media will "forget" them to serve their party.

You are absolutely right. Dean is nothing like McGovern. Hillary is only trying to make the case that the Democrats would have won in 2004 if she had been drafted for the race. Westley Clark cold not win any race against anyone.

Those that think Westley Clark would be a winning candidate, think Larry King could win both the Republican and Democratic Nominations if he declared in both parties. Clark bombed on CNN during the Gulf War. He was supposed to be the CNN Star on his way to the presidency. His ratings sucked. He has no chance. 70 percent of the voters don't even know who he is and those that do know, don't like him.

DEAN HAS NO FIXED POLITICAL PHILOSOPHY. DEAN HAS FIXED POLITICAL GOALS.

I'm beginning to think that Clark's trial balloon is a test of how the Clintonistas are going to try and get Hillary into either the White House or the Veep seat....

Very clever hypothesis.

Oh, and Elliott Wave theorists, too. And people who study valuations.

The economy isn't sweetness and light. Job growth is non-existent and real GDP growth was less than 1.4% (defense spending alone accounted for 1.7% of the 3.1%). In the midst of ruthless cost-cutting, corporate profits FELL by 3.4%-- another bearish sign.

These trial balloons and fingers to the wind speculations right now are getting her exactly what she wants........to be talked about as a possible candidate and to overcome the reservations many voters might have about a woman president.

I'm tired of even the speculations about her already.........she doesn't wear well. Unless she can see an easy way of getting what she wants, I can't see her actually doing the WORK required out on the hustings.
