And, from our standpoint, replacing Mr. Davis with Mr. Bustamante would be cruel and unusual punishment for the Golden State. There are strong reasons for Republicans to back Mr. Schwarzenegger. He is the frontrunner. He has star power. He has plenty of money. And, he has become Mr. Recall. And, maybe if he's elected, good advisers can educate him on the job. On the contrary, a vote for McClintock is a vote for Bustamente.

>>> ...a vote for McClintock is a vote for Bustamente. That's a red herring.
A vote for McClintock, is a vote for McClintock and a vote for conservatism.
A vote for Rnold or Bustamonte, is a vote liberalism.

No a vote for Arnold is a vote for Bustamante.

(It's time for Arnold to stop splitting the Republican vote and step aside for the good of the party)

A vote for Arnold is an unprincipaled vote. He has no
familiarity with California politics, he sounds like
a RINO and he is a hypocrite. He made his fortune doing
violent movies featuring massive fire power and yet he is against the Second Amendment. The person that can help
the state is McClintock. If Bustamente wins, then let
Californians "reap the whirlwind".

On the contrary, a vote for McClintock is a vote for Bustamente. Fortunately, nobody made you queen and we get to vote our own choices.
I see it like this: I have 2 choices, Bustamante or McClintock. Period.
My reasoningis as follows. California is suffering from a serious nasty disease, perhaps terminal.
McClintock might be able to save it, with a combination of fiscal restraint and thoughtful taxation. The deficit fairy does not exist.
Bustamante is so inept and clueless, he will make Davis look competent. Result? A nice quick and hopefully painless fiscal death and we can start over again.
Everyone else, including Arnold? prolonging the inevitable for months or perhaps years. I do not subscribe to lingering deaths for any reason.
Fortunately, although half of california may be functionally morons, I feel I can ride out whatever happens far better than all of them and as well as most of the remainder. The Schadenfreude (sp?) is simply an added bonus.

I'm so tired of this 'a vote for so-and-so is a vote for you-know-who.' If California won't vote for a bona fide conservative after all it's been through, then it deserves to become Mexifornia. And I don't think Schwarzenegger would stop it. Do you really think someone with such obvious self-esteem problems would ever stand up to his Hollywood buddies?

On the contrary, a vote for McClintock is a vote for Bustamente. This is not Florida and Republicans are not stupid.
A vote for McClintock is a vote for McClintock.
