Yes! (R)nold is splitting the Republican vote. He should drop out for the good of the State of California. A vote for (R)nold is a vote for Bustamove!

Out or in, I'm not voting for Arnold.

And, from our standpoint, replacing Mr. Davis with Mr. Bustamante would be cruel and unusual punishment for the Golden State. There are strong reasons for Republicans to back Mr. Schwarzenegger. He is the frontrunner. He has star power. He has plenty of money. And, he has become Mr. Recall. And, maybe if he's elected, good advisers can educate him on the job.

On the contrary, a vote for McClintock is a vote for Bustamente.

Give it a rest.

McClintock is the conservative in the race. Funny, I thought we were all conservatives as well.

"When he started, Mr. Schwarzenegger boldly said he would bankroll his campaign. Now, he's accepting campaign money. We don't have a problem with that. It's the contradiction that is both foolish and not admirable."

Arnold did announce at the beginning he would not accept PAC money! He would not be beholden to special interests!

The whole article is suspect because of inaccurate statements!

Lots of nuances there: wouldn't Tom be great; but maybe he can't win; Arnold probably will be okay (better by far than Cruz/Gray) and we shouldn't reject him out of hand; but, we surely need Tom to stay in, in case Arnold fails.

Hilarious... The Republican front-runner is seriously asked to quit by supporters of his losing rivals....

Is McClintock a closet Bustamente supporter ?

An unsourced, undocumented allegation. Bustamante's Angels will have to do better than this to cut into Arnold's 45 percent.

Outsider Mr. Schwarzenegger depends substantially on Sacramento insiders from Pete Wilson Inc. He also pledges to clean up Sacramento. But one of the state's biggest scandals involved insurance companies that failed to pay legitimate earthquake claims. They gave hush money to Insurance Commissioner Chuck Quackenbush, who resigned in disgrace. And, you guessed it, Mr. Schwarzenegger hired the culprits.

Could somebody please explain this paragraph? "the culprits" seem to refer to the insurance companies. How does Schwarzenegger hire the companies?

This is getting too complicated. Use guys are saying that a vote for one candidate is really a vote for another candidate? So, if I vote for Mary Carey would that be a vote for Larry Flynt, or vice versa? If I vote for Gary Coleman who would the vote go to? I'd hate to be the one who counts the votes and has to remember whose vote goes to who, I tell ya! There is at least 134 /2 = 76 combinations! Holy Shiite!

No, he should not quit. Schwarzenegger is performing the vital service forcing McClintock to the left.

And we all know how important the leftist agenda (pro-abortion,pro-gay, anti-gun, pro-dope, pro-Clinton, pro-environmentalist, pro-entitlement program) is to Schwarzepubbie FReepers.

10 reasons not to vote for Arnold.

He is an opportunist.

He entered the race late.

He gets flustered easily on simple questions that he should have been prepared for.

He does not want to debate.

He does not want to sign a no-tax pledge.

He has out-of-state liberal advisors.

He is not a California native.

There is a better qualified alternative (McClintock).

RINOs tend to do the opposite of what they pledge to do in their election campaign.

If the Demos have a dirt bomb on him, they can drop it any time to defuse him, or use it as blackmail.

Here's a bonus reason:

I really don't need anyone to tell me how to vote anyway. I'll vote for the best candidate and if other's don't, that's their problem, not mine.

Anagram of Schwarzenegger:

RAH SCREW EGG ZEN

Interpretation: RAH = cheer!, SCREW = screw, EGG = offspring, ZEN = consequences.

In other words: "Hurray for our guy and screw the results/consequences"

Folks I love McClintock and agree with him on most issues. But there is no way he can be governor of this state in this upcoming election. He might win if both Cruz and Arnold drops out. But thats it. The votes just are not there for a conservative.

"Yes! (R)nold is splitting the Republican vote. He should drop out for the good of the State of California. A vote for (R)nold is a vote for Bustamove!"

That's a rather ignorant statement. Do you think it was Al Gore or Ralph Nader that split the liberal vote?

For future reference, it's usually the the guy in the back, in this case the WWAAAYYYYYY back (I.E. Ralph Nader, Tommy McButtocks) whom are the ones that are responsible for splitting the vote.

I would vote for Cruz before Arnold, because at least Cruz doesn't put an (R) in front of him, and the Dems will get all the blame when things get worse. And things will get worse if Cruz or Arnold wins. Only Tom has the core values and intelligence to keep this from being a total disaster for the Republican party. But if the Republican party wants to commit suicide, go for it. But don't expect me to help them terminate themselves.

I'm voting for the Republican who is ahead in the polls. I have come to believe that we can't change things from the top down. I disagree with Arnold on lots of social issues. I just don't see how we can move from left to right in one big bite, especially in the top down approach.

The way I see it, we need to get off our lazy arses and convince people that conservatism is superior, and expose the agenda of the Democrats - face to face. I don't see how we can expect a representative government to change things so they will be the way I like them. A real representative government represents the views of the people, they don't take us anywhere.

Our first priority is to solve our economic issues. While that is happening, we should bide our time and influence our neighbors to swing them to the right on both social and economic issues.
