Hannity is going through issues one by one and getting answers from Arnold on them.
Brady bill - he supports

Wow....bang, bang, bang on the questions. No on driver's licenses for illegals, no on gay marriage but yes on "domestic partnerships." Pro-choice, no partial-birth abortions. Parental notification except in cases of abuse.

Actual quote:
"I theenk gay marriage should be between a man and a woman."
Me thinks he hasn't really grasped the finer points of the issue yet.

Prayer in schools should be "up to the schools" (huh?), supports the President in the war on Iraq, no oil drilling off of CA.

Pro-gun control. Pro-"domestic partnership". Pro-choice except for school choice. Summary RINO, RINO, RINO, RINO. Good Luck California, Go McClintock!

A summary of some of Arnold's comments. New polls show Arnold well ahead of Bustamente:
Supports domestic partnerships but not gay marriage.
Is against drug legalization, except for medicinal purposes.
Supports the "no child left behind" act and "limited vouchers."
Believes in prayer in school, leave it up to the schools.
Would not allow oil drilling off the California coast.
Thinks President Bush is doing "a great job" and supports the war in Iraq.
Regarding Buffett, says "the best way to make decisions is to hear both points of views." "Always listen to different opinion." "Warren Buffett is an extremely smart man but we don't have to agree with everything. As you know, I am a big supporter of Proposition 13."
"The first thing I would do is go into Sacramento and put a spending cap, the politicians are spending addicts."
Takes pledge offered by Hannity that he will not raise taxes unless there is a state emergency.
Regarding Bustamente raising taxes, "People have to realize he is the same as Gray Davis."
Says Davis is insulting the people when he claims the recall is just a Republican plot. Says the recall law makes Californians the luckiest people on earth by allowing the people to take the government back.
Is working out the debate formats and schedules.
Regarding taking donations, "Of course I take outside donations. What I don't do is take donations from organizations that require negotiations for their support." Good interview. Hannity likes him.
McClintock then came on and said he is "very concerned about the people around him" because they raised taxes in the early 1990s. Says the "emergency only" loophole for raising taxes is the same as Wilson's pledge, Wilson then raised taxes by calling the fiscal situation a crisis. Said he is concerned about Buffett, too. Says Arnold's social views are "improving" and that his own social views on that have not changed "in 20 years."
To: SunStar
What really comes through for me is that he seems to sincerely care about California. He's genuinely upset at what's happened to the state and wants to turn it around. And I think his approach to turning it around would be infinitely better than Bustamante's approach.
To: SunStar
I guess people can't say that they don't know Arnold on the issues anymore.... Honestly, his answers on social issues bother me.
Listen, if Tom can pass up Arnold in the polls, by all means vote Tom! I will! BUT, if it's between Cruz and Arnold, sorry Tom, I'll vote Arnold.

If Schwarzenegger wants people to believe him on taxes, one thing that would help would be for him to repudiate Wilson's 1991 tax increase. The problem for him right now, IMO, is that he is saying stuff about taxes while continuing to have Wilson and friends in his inner circle.

Arnold Schwarzenegger will win and with his wife Maria (A Kennedy) campaigning for him, many democrats will be pulled into voting and remaining in the Republican party.
The Republican party's stake in this is huge.
Schwarzenegger is a RINO, but that is what it takes to win California.
The big picture is the 2004 presidential election.
A Republican Governor will be an asset.
