The College Republicans here at the University of Tennessee (Knoxville) had their first general meeting today. Not only was this meeting chock full of the standard conservative goodness we all expect, it also held something new that bodes well for our cause.
Over 60 members both old and new came to the first meeting of the year. That we have grown from a paltry five members two years ago to our current strength indicates not only great skill on the part of our leadership but the ideological direction of the student body here at UT in general. In comparison, the College Democrats STILL have less than ten members, and the Greens are even smaller or non-existant.
What makes this all the more remarkable is the fact that our witty flyers advertising the meeting were largely taken down or destroyed within hours of being placed. Moreover, the geniuses responsible for the destruction replaced them with insulting facsimiles that encouraged the defacement of our website. Amusingly, our unenlightened enemy left the proper meeting time and place on his, uh, artwork.
People are at the boiling point, folks. We need to harness this and use it for constructive purposes.
Forward the Counter-Revolution!!! >%^D

Check the numbers at UGA. I believe the membership is the largest in the nation. I hope UT knocks us off the top in membership.

Maybe some REAL conservatives will start emerging from our youth as opposed to the countless RINO's in DC.

If college Republicans were doing their job by getting out and make noise there would be far more successes on college campuses. My college-senior daughter has turned the thinking around on many classmates, plus one professor, who thought they were Liberals but really didn't know why. Once she explained what Conservatives stood for versus what Liberals wish for they had to admit they either "had never thought about that" or that "gee, I didn't know that." College students who wear the Liberal label simply follow the professor's flow. They don't have any idea of the issues. The Conservative message needs to get out strongly on every college campus.

He has it wrong -- DEFEND THE REVOLUTION. The socialists are REACTIONARIES, counter-revolutionaries, and parasites.
Nevertheless, his comments, and more than a dozen articles in local papers that I've seen in the last few months about similar meetings of run-of-the-mill conservatives at the boiling point all across this great country, point to the fact that we are at a turning point similar to the 1850s -- the basic "social contract" has broken down.

...Once she explained what Conservatives stood for versus what Liberals wish for...
She should type up a "Conservatives vs Liberals" fact sheet to show the difference and share with other schools and us at freerepublic.com. We could copy and distribute them. Thanks in advance.

'Course, what better way to be rebellious nowadays, and piss off the establishment, than to come out as a conservative? Coming out as gay won't even draw a yawn.
