I'm a bit worried:
1.We intercepted 2 people at Seattle/Tacoma Airport quite recently,who had phony driver's licenses, and were trying to buy 1 way air passage to NYC-with cash.
2.The 2 Middle-Eastern men had been smuggled across the border from Canada.
3.Last week, Canadian authorities rounded up 19 Pakistani men, one of whom was taking multi-engine pilot training.
4.The 19 men were, in turn, linked to a larger group in Canada-51 men-who have been detained on various charges. The 51 are believed to be al-Qaida,or LET (terrorist) linked.
5. FBI agents, investigating the Saudi Arabia bombings by al-Qaeda, came across documentation of plans to hijack British airliner(s), using disguised weapons ( bombs inside cameras, laptops, etc. )and crash them into important buildings-here, or in Italy,or in Australia.
In our own country, a man named Adnan El Shukijumah-nicknamed " Jaffa the Pilot " - is still very much at large, and very much a threat, TSA or not.
There is also the "small matter" of an Anthrax Plot-still unresolved-that cost 5 American lives,at least 17 serious illnesses,and multi-millions of dollars in closure and cleanup costs.
I may be out of line in suggesting this, but it is entirely possible the Anthrax Mailings of 2001 were only a "pilot project": run to explore our vulnerability.
It's time to set aside our differences and pool our knowledge, instead of arguing about arcane matters- ( Was the anthrax REALLY weaponized? What was the silica size ? Etc, etc.)
It's also time to stop battering one another publicly,and cooperate.
