Why I'm standing up for the Ten Commandments in Alabama.

MONTGOMERY, Ala.--The battle over the Ten Commandments monument I brought into Alabama's Supreme Court is not about a monument and not about politics. (The battle is not even about religion, a term defined by our Founders as "the duty we owe to our creator and the manner for discharging it.") Federal Judge Myron Thompson, who ordered the monument's removal, and I are in perfect agreement on the fact that the issue in this case is: "Can the state acknowledge God?"

Why is not one of these judges nor their FR minions willing to say who these various U.S. documents mean when they say, "Creator, Almighty God, or Lord?"

Moore is NOT the judge who ignores the words "Almighty God" in the Alabama constitution.

No. He just decides what religious expression of Almighty God he will display in a lobby he doesn't own, and says, directly, that Hindus, Buddhists, and Muslims have rights in the US only because they are granted them by Judeo-Christianity.

Moore is a megalomaniac, and every time he opens his mouth he proves it.

He's a 21st century Huey Long.

Romans 13:1 Let every person be loyally subject to the governing (civil) authorities. For there is no authority except from God [by His permission, His sanction], and those that exist do so by God's appointment."

In my eyes, Roy Moore see's himself, and has placed himself, above the position for which he was elected. See verse above.

He has turned the Ten Commandments into a graven image. People are more worried about that monument than the fact that their neighbors are going to hell. So much for the Great Commission.

Christians have threatened to halt the removal of the monument. Obstructing civil law? See verse above.

How many of the Ten Commandments are our laws based upon?

Good point. And something these folks need to think long and hard about.

Because the terms are not used in reference TO the laws.

We should discuss who had the authority in that building to put up any display, not who owns the building. You realize, of course, that public buildings contain all sorts of displays, works of art, and community announcements.

Someone decides who gets to put them up. For example, you cannot walk into your local courthouse and hang up your favorite painting, even though there might be other paintings hanging there.

Also, what's the date where you're at?

With that logic we would still belong to Great Britain.

The Alabama Constitution actually does say, "invoking the favor and guidance of Almighty God." I've read it.

Let's say you take an oath to uphold the Alabama Constitution. How would you uphold that part?

Who did they mean when they said "Creator" "Almighty God" and "Lord?"

And since you mention the words of the constitution, what do the words, "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion..." SAY?

Don't give me an interpretation, just tell me what they say.

Sorry xzins, it's late. Can you find exactly where the Al Constitution has that phrase? I just tried searching and came up empty handed.

P.S. I hit on one point on the M-forum.

The only one I can address at the moment, because I know how it was used, was the term Lord in the U.S. Constitution. It was used in presenting the date, "Year of our Lord....". I will have to find the others in the morning, unless you can offer them up :)

Sink, my friend, you couldn't be MORE wrong about MOORE (or about his principled stand for the truth)!

Do you honestly think that a Hindu or a Buddhist or a Muslim immigrant to this country has MORE or LESS freedom in America than he does in his home of origin?

If he has more freedom here, then what's to complain about Judge Moore's display -- even if the moral foundation of our legal system is Judaeo-Christian (and it is, whether or not you accept it)?

If our Judaeo-Christian-based legal system is so TERRIBLE, then why are so many Muslims, Buddhists, and Hindus busting their butts to get over here as fast as they can.

People vote with their feet. Would you PREFER to live in Saudi Arabia, where the Qur'an is the national Constitution?

You make no sense. Trashing Judge Moore the way you do ultimately makes you look small-minded -- and does nothing to take away from Judge Moore's courageous stand.

Comparing Moore to Huey Long is, in my view, the BASEST of SLANDER. Long was in it for money, etc. Moore is in this for principle. (In case you hadn't noticed, he's been suspended.) Duh!

Do you really think that it is an ACCIDENT that our Christian Founders created a system that is only 1000 times better than any system found in any Muslim or Buddhist or Hindu country on earth?
