He should have been executed by the State and not by his fellow convicts.

Why? He's just as dead either way and this way is much cheaper. He probably asked for it by trying to do to a fellow prisoner what he had been doing to young boys.

Does Massachusettes have the death penalty, aside from inmate justice? I say "bravo" and wish that Westerfield will meet the same!

Why ? Because the convicts are as likely to rape and sodomize you as him. When the prison culture is unopposed it spreads. It becomes cool. People even joke about it and then it becomes an expected rite of passage. The weak and innocent suffer as much as the weak and guilty.

For example you could be protesting at a rally in any one of hundreds of American cities and find yourself locked up among animals. Who will care what happens to you if prison justice is expected, tolerated, or cheered ?

Your temporary residence may hate whites, conservatives, middle class, etc. and take it out on anyone they perceive to fit that class.

I'm thinking there's probably a sizable portion of men in prison who have been molested as children. Probably looked at Geoghan as a prime outlet.

From what I understand, child molesters are the bottom of the prison food chain (somewhere right around child killers/abusers and corrupt cops). This could be explained that many folks in prison conclude that they ended up the way they did because of traumas suffered by them during childhood...call it Instant Karma.
As a disillusioned Catholic, I believe he got what he deserved, just like Dahmer.

That's what I was thinking. With homosexuality being a mental disease, this stuff doesn't go away until they consciously decide it wiil.

The people in prison getting raped and bullied and beaten on are not big bad Leroy serving 20-life for armed robbery or murder.

It's 20 year old non-violent offender Joe Blo who isn't gang-affiliated and is serving 18-24 months for car stereo theft or posessing a few ounces of marijuana.
