I do know something about internecine warfare on the Right, and being in the political wilderness, by virtue of being a conservative Canadian.Vote splitting by purists and zealots has had a terrible effect on Canadian politics, so I do know what I am talking about.

I find it ironic, that most sitting here trashing Schwarzenegger never show up on the immigration threads, as this out of control, federal government approved invasion is one of California's *biggest* problems!

Yet most of these on this thread, yaping about being big conservatives, NEVER, EVER, show up on the immigration threads....

What phony BS.

I'm thinking you are the one posting for DU. Not Summer.
After all...you are supporting every cause DU has been promoting!

Well your opinion certianly holds weight with me.  Let's see you've spent time trying to deligitimize the viability of Schwarzenegger being a fall back position against Bustamove.  Okay let's look at what BustaMorte supports.

BustaHemorrhoid has been a member of Mecha for decades.  He isn't just a fly by night attendee at a couple of their meetings.  For decades he has known what their ideology is.  He supports it.  He has refused to renounce either his membership or Mecha's beliefs.  Mecha is a support group for the separatist reconqistador movement, the reconquest of California, but it doesn't stop there.  This movement envisions the entire area from Texas to Washington state and everything west of that being a part of the new nation of Aztlan.

Whatever Schwarzenegger is, he is not a white separatist.  And I don't consider a brown separatist to be any better than a white separatist.

Take all the other issues and blow them out whatever orafice you desire.  I'm not going to stand by and watch Schwarzenegger trashed by the likes of you any more than I would a BustaManiac supporter.

Fiscally Schwarzenegger is lightyears better than BustaMincemeat.  He'll get my vote, even if he doesn't get yours, the democrats, the socialists or the Aztlan crowd.

The next governor of California!

Would you support Tom if Arnold wasn't in the race?

When you get tired of blathering, let's talk real issues here. Study up on BustaMinimus and what he stands for. If you stand for that, throw your vote away. It's that simple.

Yes, unreservedly so. And I could fly to the moon by flapping my arms if there weren't such a thing as gravity.

But gravity exists. And so does Schwarzenegger's superiority over McClintock in every facet of this race.

Arnold is a moderate Republican, one who has been loyal to the cause for years, and is no leftist.Unlike many a moderate, he understands the costs of high taxes and places the needs of the private sector ahead of those of the government sector, or recognizes that without a strong economy, all the fantasises about do-goodism public spending are for nothing. Most RINOS are at heart pessimists, acting as bean counters when they intone "fiscal responsibity", which is code for :tax and spend.

Under Arnie, you will have a guy closer to the vision of a Jack Kemp, than a Lincoln Chafee, and considering how fortunate you are to even have that chance to re-write the script from last fall, you ought to embrace Arnie with glee.He will stop the bleeding.

As compared to the McClintockinator no? As compared to the BustAztlanator, you bet your arse!

Reality demands hard choices. Your man enough to admit it. Sadly others would rather play children's games and avoid reality.

Exactly my thought. The guy was brillant at managing the olympics in L.A. He's not suitable for governor IMO.

Interesting analogy. Let me state another; if you attempt to destroy a candidate who believes in most of the same things that you do and has the best chance of winning, aren't you simply putting the frog in a Cuisinart then setting it to Frappe instead?

Ummm, how would I know that Arnohld believes in most of the same things that I do? Ahnold has said either things that I don't agree with, or provided vague platitudes about fixing problems without offering any real solutions.
