--Just a word of advice for your candidate --should he be reading our words...
When you get time on a National TV show (Hannity & Colmes last night) DO NOT spend your entire time on air discussing The Recall and Arnold. Be a leader, take control, and talk about yourself and what YOUR plans for CA are.
Geeez, if he can't even take control of an interview, it makes me nervous about his leadership abilities in other matters.
...AND...Don't be mad at me for noticing...get on HIS case for missing out on a timely, national venue, opportunity to show his stuff!

Based on your comments from several postings, I believe that you are a troll.

Good news indeed. Bill is a good guy but just isn't good at capturing the public's support.

Acutally the latest numbers had Arnold winning 23-18% over Bustamante with McClintock in the race, but this was before Simon dropped out.

Premeire Magazine claimed in that article that Arnold had elective heart surgery to repair the damage done to him by steriods. I predict that we're going to look back on stories like this as a time of sweetness and light, compared with the slander to come when the Grayout smear machine cranks up a couple of weeks before the election.
(Actually, I've had to make sure that some of the stuff coming out of McClintock's camp and by his supporters wasn't released by Davis' people - its that hard to tell sometimes).

My guess is RNC will wait a little longer...see what numbers McClintock can pull, and if the numbers are good, but not enough to beat Arnold, then prime him for Boxer's seat.
Actually, Issa would be better for that...class act, that Issa IMHO.

Perhaps the ghost of Calvin Coolidge should run. "Silent Cal?" You've doomed us all to having to listen to 30 minutes of dead air at his press conferences! ;)

So you think a man that would like to see Calfironia become the first state of a new nation Aztlan, would be better for us than Schwarzenegger. Well, for a guy that claims to know history and a lot about politics, I can't imagine you'd make that case.
For all of Schwarzenegger's warts, he's not a BustaScumbag.
To: DoughtyOne; NormsRevenge; fieldmarshaldj
In the end, I believe principled people may have to vote Scharzenegger rather than see BustaHemorrhoid win. It may not even be an issue at the time. We're still early on in the campaign. I'm glad some of us have some common ground (evaluate the candidates and see how things unfold) at least through mid-September.

McClintock's own internals have him at 12% with Simon maybe getting him 3% more..where is the rest of his support coming from?
To: GmbyMan
Yo, put down the annoying magic marker font, shouting only weakens your argument.
Simon and McClintock were drawing from the same pool, so now that Simon is out there is no reason for McC to drop out before the debates, and before we see how Arnold performs and weathers the dribbling of smear attacks. What if McC and Petey drop and then Arnold nosedives from some scandal release? And who is to say that Arnold won't end up left enough on certain positions that McC can't emerge on top in a 3 + leftovers race? It is still possible that a candidate could win with just 30%.

It may, but it's not as large as the massive blow-hole in your logic. DU couldn't have done better. I hope the pay is sufficient, or do you just volunteer to appear this ill informed.

Lyn Nofziger, Senior Advisor to President Reagan, Endorses Tom McClintock for Governor
A Letter from Lyn Nofziger Reagan Advisor Lyn Nofziger was the man who got the job done and elected Ronald Reagan as Governor of California in 1966, reversing a series of Republican losses in California and restoring California to greatness.
Dear Friend,
Our State of California is in the national spotlight these days because it appears likely that disgusted voters will recall Governor Davis, the man who put the state in severe financial trouble and doesnt have either the brains or guts to fix the problems.
Because I spent so much of my political career working with Ronald Reagan, people are asking my opinion of this campaign and the candidates. Thats why I am writing this letter about State Senator Tom McClintock, who is one of the four leading contenders running to replace Davis.
McClintock is the candidate who is unquestionably most knowledgeable about state government and undoubtedly is the most qualified. He is also the only real conservative in the race. He knows what the problems are that a new governor would face and he has a program for solving them.
Were I still in California, I would unhesitatingly vote for him.
McClintock must overcome two problems if he is to be elected. One is money.
If he can raise enough money (and I assure you he will use it wisely), McClintock will be a serious contender.
The other problem is the gossip that he cant win because of the money problem. With your help he can overcome that.
You may recall that 37 years ago the experts were saying the same thing about Ronald Reagan. He couldnt win.
But Reagan did back then exactly what Tom McClintock is doing today. He went around the state from one city to the next, speaking in plain terms that people could relate to, about how he would fix the problems created by a then Democrat incumbent Pat Brown.
People could see the good and the principled integrity in Ronald Reagan back then just as they see them in Tom McClintock today.
And believe me, California more than ever needs a Governor who is a good and honest person NOW.
There are only a few weeks left before the October 7th Election. That's why I am asking you to help me build a national conservative crusade to fund Tom McClintocks campaign.
With $38 billion in debt and more on the horizon, California voters cant afford to make a mistake in this election.
Please
click here to make your most generous contribution right now. Sincerely, Lyn Nofziger

Yeah. Ueberroth I've been ignoring since his entry into the race is just... strange. My gut on him seems to be more RINOish than anything, so I'd figure his people would go to you-know-who, but I could be wrong.
