And I agree with you. The NCAA needs a playoff, bs rankings based on some mythical numeric theory and coaches polls should not decide who plays.

Your tag, "Judean People's Front? We're the People's Front of Judea!" It's right out of Monty Python's The Life of Bryon. The Woaman skit is one of the funniest things you'll ever see.

Washington State and any Big 10 Team!! Right. And which Big 10 team made for a really tough game last year? (Remembering that all the other Top 10 teams won all their home games in big conferences as well.)
Washington State? You mean a home game against a team that the Big 12 champion (and I'm no Big 12 fan at all) beat by 50 points (or whatever they were up before they put the water boy in at QB to keep from running up the score) in their bowl game ? That's not exactly a hard game.
Like I say, no one else deserved to be the champion last year. OSU is the champion, hands down. All I am saying is: 1) They got a great break in the schedule (luck in that area is a huge part of the current system), and 2) The current system is a flat out joke. Those 2 points are undebatable. But in all sincerity, congratulations on being the champions. OSU fully deserved it.

Games away from home are what end national championship chances. If you lose a home game, you never deserved consideration anyway. I have no doubt Oklahoma and a couple other teams could have handled OSU's schedule last year. But those are the breaks. My team, UGA, is facing a great shot next year because of the talent it will have, but most importantly, because of a very good break in the schedule. I just wish scheduling wasn't such a huge component in this game, as with even a minimal playoff system where everyone started with the same chances (i.e., win your conference and go to the playoff), it wouldn't be.

Remember in the Iliad the scenes of the athletic competitions? In the MIDDLE of the freakin' war? NOW those were some serious sports FANatics. And for the Olympic Games (dedicated to the Gods) all war would stop.

The NFL/NFLPA will lose because they enjoy monopolistic rights. As soon as the NFL/NFLPA start to feel the antimonopoly heat from Claret's lawyer(s) they will cave. If he sues, he will win.

At that school, maybe, but your response is nonsensical since both OSU and the school where my relative teaches are major football schools. Guess you didnt sense the thick fog of sarcasm...

You heard it here first: Penn State comes to Lincoln and puts a 63-7 whoopin' on your boys... ;-)Uh ... Lincoln would be the Nebraska Cornhuskers. Huskies are University of Washington.
So Penn State goes to Nebraska and they still give up 7 points to Washington?

Without Johnson PSU has no running game. Not to mention all the other starters they lost. The Blackshirts will be back this year. Huskers by 14...

LOL!!!! Yes, that one went completely over my head. I've seen that movie 5-6 times and added that tag line the other day when something made me think of that movie, but I guess I that's what happens when your brain is filled with thoughts of the California recall and the middle east, you get easily confused when life returns to the light and fluffy.
Whew, I'm just glad my real dad isn't a woman. ;-)

Outstanding.
What do you think of their new uniforms and logo.
I've taken to calling them, "The snarling weasles of Montlake" based on that 'slick profile dog' thing they have going now. During the Neuheisel years it was particularly fitting.
If they beat OSU this weekend, then look out.

Primary charge against Clarett by the NCAA is "filing a false police report".
The grade thing is inflated. The word on this on campus is that this TA had it in for Clarett presumably because he didn't admire her the way she did him. The grade was changed to counter her bias and she didn't like the fact that her act of revenge was thwarted she then went to tha paper with a trumped up charge. In addition she displayed an obvious animosity towards him after a certain point in the semester which bolsters this account.
Keep in mind this is all ear to the rail stuff and is basically info being repeated from someone who knew someone in that class and is supposedly in a position to know a few things.
I have no great love for Clarett, I consider him a problem child that the team would be better off without but if the above is actually the case then he's gotten the short end of the stick on the grade thing.
The police report however is another matter and I hope they bust his ass for it.
