"An Eye for An Eye....Until the Whole World is Blind"
Gandhi

I heard the news while driving. Another 'suicide for Allah'.....had blown up a bus in Israel. From the first reports....there were a lot of people hurt...and dead.

I arrived home...and turned on the news.

Pictures of para-medics attempting to keep children alive.....the children laying on the ground...and the para-medics feverishly trying everything they had to breath life back into lifeless broken bodies.

...and watching their faces as they sometimes failed.

We have come so far...as humans...as children of God.......as our understanding of our Rights and Responsibilities have grown.....and yet....we are seemingly reduced to the slaughter of children.

For Political gain.....

For REVENGE.....

To just kill....

I don't know.....is this the METHOD that must be used to arrive at peace???

We have come so far....with ideals of a Free people...that each and every one of us has worth...and has control of our own lives.

We have come so far.....and yet in the end we need to see that there IS a cancer living in our human species.

A cancer that has only one thought...to kill everyone who disagrees with it.

To murder children ..all in the pretext of revenge...or on the pretext that they were merely Jews or Zionists (can a child of 2 actually BE political???).

We are told that the members of Hamas etc.....are fighting for a ' Palistinian Homeland '. That their actions are the only way they can fight...and "Liberate" their "Homeland".

Bullshit.

Fighting to Free your Homeland is the Spanish pushing out the Islamic conquerers one step at a time until they won.

Fighting to Free you Homeland is the Greeks banding together to drive out the Persians.

Fighting to Free your Homeland....is the farmers and merchants standing toe to toe with the British Infantry...and beating them...and creating a Nation of Free people.

Murdering small children is not.

So....the idea that Hamas etc are 'Freedom Fighters'.....is a lie.

And worse still....it is a cancer that seemingly pervades the entire Islamic World...(I have YET to hear of any other culture that has suicide bombers that delight in killing small children).

We are at a crossroads in humanities path towards Freedom.

This time in our History will decide the fate of millions.

Will they be helped to grow...to develop Free Governments....to learn that they CAN shape their own destiny...that it is NOT up to whatever Imman or Dictator is 'hot' at the time.

The Islamic Peoples DO have a chance...but there IS a cancer in their midst.

One keeping them from life......one determined to keep the chaos and carnage flowing freely...(which, like cockroaches, they thrive on).

A cancer that thinks nothing of sending their children out to kill other children.......

At this point....the Islamic World NEEDS to decide...on life or death.

If they decide on life...THEY will remove the cancer....and cast it aside.

If they choose death...they just need to keep going in the same direction......forever trading an eye for an eye.....until the whole world is blind.

But I don't believe the rest of the world is going to give them much more time.

Gandhi would not have succeeded had the British not restrained themselves by the rule of law.

Civil disobedience does not work when implemented towards an uncivil oppressor. In the mindset of uncivil people, civil negotiations are a non-starter - in fact to do so would be a sign of weakness.

When a civilized people face a brutal enemy, they should exercize "Queensbury Rules" (boxing) at their own peril.

Better to exercise the "Platnum Rule*" rather than the "Golden Rule**."

* Platnum Rule - Do unto others as they do unto you.

** Golden Rule - Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.

Marytrs usually don't have sons to write about how nobel they were.

Good read.

But I don't believe the rest of the world is going to give them much more time.

Methinks the time for killing them is now. And in large numbers.

"The fact that the Muslim world, until recently, has not enjoyed large-scale access to weapons of mass destruction (nuclear/chemical/biological) has represented a reprieve, of sorts, for Israel."

And for the rest of the world.

But now they DO have that access.

And they continue to have the hatred of everything they see.

"Methinks the time for killing them is now. And in large numbers."

That end seems to be drifting closer and closer...as the only answer to the problem.

"It is time for us to tell the Palestinians, "Stop the bombing now, because the next time you kill an American, there will be U.S. troops coming to kick down your door, and they will make the Israelis look like little fuzzy little lambs."

Could not agree more.

Family is doing fine. We'll be in your area around October for a week of laying on the beach and doing my best imitation of a beached whale.

"An Eye for An Eye....Until the Whole World is Blind" Gandhi

Gandhi. What a dopey, sanctimonious little prick. He didn't have any trouble advocating violence when it suited his purposes (see Richard Grenier's The Gandhi Nobody Knows). Besides, Gandhi's quote just underscores one more area of his amazingly profound ignorance. An eye for an eye doesn't represent barbarism; it represented a giant step forward in law--it limited punishment. Following its precepts, no one could be meted out a punishment greater than the crime he committed. This is something that even England in the 1800's didn't live up to since one could be put to death for theft. The U.S. still doesn't today (look at asset forfeiture laws for just one example). And in India, if you were a widow, even in Gandhi's time, you were often thrown onto your dead husband's funeral pyre whether you liked it or not.

This isn't to say, though, that you weren't pretty much spot on about the Muslim world. The key to understanding it is to realize that they represent an irruption into the present of what was everyday life for most of the ancient world (though with the addition of cell phones and bombs).

Sorry you don't like Gandhi..(which I believe is due to a wrong evaluation of the Mahatma)..but you can't please every idiot in every situation every time...can you????

I don't like Gandhi because he was unbelievably ignorant, stupendously arrogant (but what else could you expect given the combination of his gender and ethnicity?), entirely ad hoc and self-centered in his morality and views on violence, and a weasally little perv (he liked to help his teenaged girl attendants toward spiritual greatness by giving them enemas). He helped return India to the violence and religious bigotry that have characterized most of its history. Those who watched the Oscar-winning Gandhi infomercial paid for by the Indian government or other forms of hagiographic propaganda generally come away with the intended effect (ie, "...which I believe is due to a wrong evaluation of the Mahatma"). The only thing great about Gandhi is the degree to which the world has been deceived about what he was really like. But then there are still people who think both Bill and Hillary Clinton are saints too.
