Thank you for elaborating. If our laws weren't based on the Ten Commandments, we would be a lawless society and I'd be lying to you right now.

I agree, but what I'm saying is that sometimes when the passion and FIGHT level is too high, the message doesn't get through to others, as well as it
could have.
If the goal is to communicate, then realize that goal, by using the best method to communicate it. If my goal is to tell you that a benevolent dictator is a good thing, and the word dictator bothers you (like it should), then the effort to communicate a message using those two words together gets blocked by your feelings about hearing the word that upset you, and you don't hear past that word(s). If you are upset with the tone, the tone blocks what's trying to be communicated. That's my point.
That said, you're right, I hate the way this world has become a mamby, pamby place, where everything has to be sugar coated to make a point these days.
I hope I've clarified my point adequately, so that you realize I'm on Alan Keyes' side, when I offer my "tone" suggestion.

Wow, you are one angry person. Why? What did someone do to you? Well, whatever it was, I'm sorry. They shouldn't have hurt you, but you need to try and manage it a bit better. You'll be a happier person, and enjoy life a lot more.
I know you'll probably lash out at me for posting this, and that's fine. I'm sending this in a caring frame of mind. Do with it what you will.

I really like Keyes for the purpose of letting me hear what the true "purist" conservative rationale is, then, when I hear the other side, I can formulate a valid opinion after having heard the BEST arguments from both points of view.
Example: stem cell research.
I thought, gee, if it can help people, and then Alan Keyes was slated for coming on to the News shows. I said to myself, good, I'd like to hear what he has to say to combat this seemingly good argument from the "cure people" side.
And, because of having heard the various points, I thought W did a good job at finding a middle ground that I could live with, on the subject.

A retread is someone who used to post here under a different name, and then either got kicked off or discredited so badly that they registered under a new name and started over.

He resembles a tin pot dictator from some backward, corrupt African cesspool. He'd look snappy in a set of fatigues ;-)What? That is truly an ignorant statement.

"If you are upset with the tone, the tone blocks what's trying to be communicated."
People who display this behavior pattern are incapable of any reasoned thought and make critical decisons by reacting in a pathological manner to momentary impressions. Trying to communicate with such people is a waste of time, and inevitably results in assimilating, to varying degrees, the very defect one wishes to overcome.
This means that those trying to persuade neurotics on their language level inevitably become as neurotic as those they try to persuade, and end up castrating themselves intellectually and emotionally, becoming useless, neither fish nor fowl, neither respected nor taken seriously by those whose opinions are produced by reasoned thought.
As for neurotics and worse, who now dominate national discourse, the only thing they should feel is apprehension and discomfort whenever they hear anything factual. Because they consider reality and fact some sort of Western imperialist repressive conspiracy, there is no reasoning with them.
The only thing a conservative person whould want his or her ideological opponents to feel is inadequate, uncomfortable, with a dominant, routine mood of apprehension and unarticulated dread, which becomes full blown anxiety and fear whenever they hear factual analysis and hard rationality.
Any other tone of voice which does not display unambiguous outrage at the destruction of the USA further promotes mental castration and lobotomization, and as such, deserves only ridicule and drab contempt.

Keyes couldn't hack it on MSNBC when he had the camera all to himself. He is a has been.

Alan is a step or two above the league that Sean and Alan Colmes play in. Between functioning intellect, and the ability to display the same contemporaneously, He is in a League of His own.
Also, IMHO, the finest living Orator working the Podium .

You know, you're right. Why try to communicate with others that don't share your view. They won't listen anyway.
You've proved your theory.
Therein lies the lesson.

You're joking, right? If I read your post correctly, you indicate that because Keyes has never "said, claimed or implied" that he's a know-it-all, he can't possibly behave as one???????????
Thank you further illustrating the blind following of your pied piper. If this is your idea of logical thinking, I guess it makes my point.

"Give this man his own Fox program, please!" Hell no! He should be a U.S. Senator and then he should someday reside at 1600 Pennsylvania Ave. in Washington D.C.

You are a misguided atheist.
- - - - - - - - - -
Actually no, I believe Jesus is God... and that He does NOT approve of church and state mixtures.
- - - - - - - - -
This has nothing to do with church and state.
- - - - - - - - - - -
Actually the Supreme Courts on the Federal and State level, have indicated that they believe it is... and have ruled accordingly, that the statue elevating religion, and a particular brand thereof... has been ordered removed.
READ the rulings. It IS their jurisdiction. They said so. In this nation, that MAKES it so. Get over it.
FWIW, I will take THEIR legal rulings as being correct over some self-alleging law teacher (perhaps an EXPERT from a local community college). You or Supreme Court Justices?
Yup.. you lose to them hands down. Even the Christian Justices who are Moore's colleagues KNOW this was done wrong and have ordered removal.
So take your crazy "the Christian religion is america" act and sell it elsewhere, because we are all stocked up for now...
Moore's grandstanding to become governor is toast, and will very likely lead to his being impeached for abusive and zany religious grandstanding.

It is a matter of historical fact, and I don't believe in erasing history to please a bunch of undeducated fools.
_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_
"Undeducated" ? Don't know that word, but it looks like you may have mispelled something Professor "I teach law in College."
Your "education issue" aside, intentional distortion and partial quotes of historical events, collated by religiocrats who have a well-documented history of being "rewriting" experts, hardly qualifies as "historical integrity."
America is not now, nor has it ever been... a Christian nation... When you see a quote, with rare exception, that mentions "God" by a founder, it is either generic, or was used by the "religiocrats" of the day, specific to debates which the "religiocrats" like patrick henry consistently LOST.
We know from that from reading congressional records of the votes and debates. Heres the fact: NO marriage of church, religion, state and politics was ever WANTED by this new nation... as we HATED what we ran from in Europe and what the "religion as state" crowd did whenever they were in charge there.
If you want it back... I suggest a temporary move there for a few months might be in order. We will welcome you back to our "religious" anarchy zone, with open arms. Or, you could stay... but Europe is not the example I would want to follow for religious state socialism...
YOU can practice your faith without fear HERE... unless you try to insert YOUR version of religion in a SECULAR court house as a religious display... that is why this was found to be illegal by courts at every level. State and Federal.
_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_
Not everybody who disagrees with you Professor "I am a Law Teacher".... is an athiest.
Not everybody who rattles your limited knowlege or "deducation" of history or truth is a God-hater or an "ignorant fool" as you indicated.
Some of us just want our freedom from Judge Moore's particularly "in your face" bunch of bible thumpers.
The message to Moore from the courts (if he and his followers can grasp it): Keep your sectarian beliefs out of the people's buildings, unless you do it in such a way that does NOT exalt one faith over another.... keep it secular and you can keep the display. Period.
History shows that this is the key difference between the religious statues that are allowed to stay in America, and the ones that have to go. Get used to the "lemon" test. It is the law of the land... Christian.

It was also beneath many. Not everyone digs his style, and I have to admit I'm one of them.
Those two sentences are two different things. If you don't like the man's style, does that mean he's beneath you? Regardless, no problem not liking him. I can see how he could be seen as arrogant or a know-it-all. But, I see it as someone who is firm, confident and comfortable in their knowledge and beliefs, with no tolerance for moral relativism.
Certainly we are all free to choose whom to support or listen to. For instance, I like to listen to Savage, but just for the 20% of the time that I think he's right on the money. The rest I can understand full well would lead many to think he is certifiable lol
