People who display this behavior pattern are incapable of any reasoned thought and make critical decisons by reacting in a pathological manner to momentary impressions. Trying to communicate with such people is a waste of time, and inevitably results in assimilating, to varying degrees, the very defect one wishes to overcome.
This means that those trying to persuade neurotics on their language level inevitably become as neurotic as those they try to persuade, and end up castrating themselves intellectually and emotionally, becoming useless, neither fish nor fowl, neither respected nor taken seriously by those whose opinions are produced by reasoned thought.
As for neurotics and worse, who now dominate national discourse, the only thing they should feel is apprehension and discomfort whenever they hear anything factual. Because they consider reality and fact some sort of Western imperialist repressive conspiracy, there is no reasoning with them.
The only thing a conservative person whould want his or her ideological opponents to feel is inadequate, uncomfortable, with a dominant, routine mood of apprehension and unarticulated dread, which becomes full blown anxiety and fear whenever they hear factual analysis and hard rationality.
Any other tone of voice which does not display unambiguous outrage at the destruction of the USA further promotes mental castration and lobotomization, and as such, deserves only ridicule and drab contempt.
