Keep this up and there will be no Republican in the run-off!!
---------------------------------- CLYDE HOLLOWAY TO RUN
Former congressman Clyde Holloway says he will make "an important and exciting announcement" on the governor's race at 4:45 p.m. in the Secretary of State's office.
The other major shoe to fall before the 5 p.m. deadline belongs to Republican businessman John Georges.
As of noon, 17 candidates had qualified for governor.
The Fax Weekly sets the field and updates poll numbers in tomorrow's edition.
Also, Randy Ewing's account of his dinner with Ray Nagin, Paul Connick and Tim Coulon in Greenville, Miss.
Ewing: "For a chance to meet with those guys I'd go to the moon."

***TERRELL LEADS AG POLL***
***Orleans Criminal Sheriff Charlie Foti is far ahead in fundraising in the attorney general's race, but Elections Commissioner Suzie Terrell starts off with a wide poll lead, according to an independent survey***
I am glad that Suzie Terrell's December 2002 Senate loss wasn't a total waste of time. The experience gave her valuable statewide ID.

This is the same SOB that cost Republicans LA-5 last December by him refusing to endorse Republican candidate, Lee Fletcher.

Dammit we don't need another Repub to drain votes from Jindal, especially this jerk. He ran in LA-5 last year and came in third. He refused to endorse Lee Fletcher the Repub who came in second, the rat Rodney Alexander won the runoff by a hair.

Losing the Senate race was understandable. But, losing the LA-05 was an embarrassment. The GOP won 70% of the vote in the LA-05 jungle primary. But, Clyde Holloway had to throw a hissy fit and let a RAT win a GOP-leaning House seat. Chances are, if Holloway loses the Governor's race, he is going to try to run for the LA-05 House seat which he'll end up playing the role of spoiler once again.

What a day, what a day. Holloway makes special announcement. Looks like he going run for governor. Fake towards the middle. Hands off ball to Blossman who runs up to governor´s line. Blossman than flips ball to Holloway who makes end around for Lt. governor. Plus, they´re on the same team. Want more action? How about Al Donovan running for Secretary of State and J. E. Jumonville, Jr, a Democrat filling up that first team. Whew!! Stay tuned. Next match--Louisiana vs. California. bayoubuzz.com
Clyde Holloway is running for Lt. Gov., not governor, and teaming up with Jay Blossman, which should, probably won't but should, kill any support normal people had for Blossman.

Holloway wasn't the only Republican who refused to be a team player. There was another Cooksey who spoiled the broth.
I hope Holloway gets 1% of the vote and is finally retired to pasture.

For reason, John Cooksey and Gov. Murphy Foster were very relucant to support Suzie Terrell in her Senate race against Mary Landrieu. John Cooksey's apathy in the Senate run-off, was another reason why the LA-05 fell in favor of the RATS. I believe Mary Landrieu carried the LA-05.

See above where Holloway is running for LT Gov.
Indications are that Georges won't run, which means we only have the 3 Republicans: Jindal, Downer, and Blossman. Which is pretty good considering what we started off with. And two strong down-ticket candidates in Dan Kyle and Suzie Terrell, plus Fox McKeithen.

That is even worse. Jindal would make the Gov. run-off anyhow, but we can't afford to have another conservative taking votes away from Kirt Bennett in his bid to become the first black Republican (or first black of any party) to be elected statewide in Louisiana since the 19th Century (right, DJ?).

Regardless of what the LA GOP does, the next governor of Louisiana is Richard Ieyoub. It's a done deal. He'll get the black vote, the union vote, the Edwin Edwards vote, and the north Louisiana "FDR was the greatest president we have ever had, Democrats are the party of the working man" vote. Mike Foster is his biggest backer. Hide and watch.

Does anyone have any theories on who Holloway will take the most votes away from, Bennett or Schwegmann?

Bennett may totally get lost in this mess of higher ID names running for Lt Gov. It's still probably going to end up between Landrieu and Mel Schweggie... :-|
