Former Baseball Commish speaks: For Driver ID..

Posted on 08/20/2003 5:20:27 PM PDT by Paul8148

I heard this durning the KFI news.

He is for driver ID for illegal alliens.

Will not repeal the Car Tax untill the budget is fix. Then he will repeal or get rid of the whole thing at the end of his three year plan.

(He claim and I heard this said by Kern Country suprivors who are republicans saying the way the tax system is set up that local goverment will lose tens of millions of dollors and have to go back and cut more. One claim 46 million dollars.)

A 5% cut accross the board cut in spending expect for education.

It sounds to me we need to help him up. Because of he can take votes from cruz.

More on Car Tax and Local Government. The claim is that 46 million will be lose here in Kern Country alone. Most of the car tax goes to local goverment. This goes back to Pete Wilson 91 Tax Hikes.

Since these positions are a gnat's hair to the right of Bustamante, I suppose that you're correct. Aaaahnold's looking good by comparison.

Agreed. I had expected better. He oughta just drop out.

On balance, Arnold did well by himself today, along the line of reassuring people about NOT raising taxes, sensitive to jobs and businesses.

It put the Buffett thing into perspective. Buffett's role is to reassure the bond community that CA will not default, to get better ratings. And save taxpayers money, therefore.

I agree. The Buffet comments were pretty well reasoned too. Good point.

Whoa man, you write like a California public school graduate. :=)

That said, I thought this guy might get my vote, because of all the candidates I know of he has the right kind of experience. But I don't like these proposals so I suppose I will have to look for someone else for whom to vote.

What we need to roll back all spending, across the board, to the levels it was in 1999. Cancel all new programs, or roll them into pre-existing agencies. Let's get a new governor and a new start at budgeting.
