""Voiding the Contracts saves little government money?" The electrical contracts amount to 42 BILLION DOLLARS! You call that very litte money? "

You just don't seem to understand that those contracts are NOT part of the State Budget - they are paid by ratepayers.

The portion the State would save would be only on the electricity the State itself uses.

I would HOPE McClintock understands this....

What you obviously don't understand is that the 42 BILLION DOLLARS EFFECTS THE WHOLE STATE OF CALIFORNIA...from the families who are paying three times what they paid last year to the businesses who have left because of the high cost of electricity hence a loss of jobs hence a loss of state revenue from income, taxes sales taxes, fees et al, a loss of business taxes paid to the state and the overall health of the state economy! Now either you are too blind to see that or you're too thick to understand!!! But let's not be coy here and don't insult my intelligence with these problems you refuse to accept. LOL

Those ratepayers include my California based company. The high rates have made the California employees uncompetitive. They are not closing new contracts. That means reduced tax revenues to the state of California. There is no free lunch. The same can be said of the high disability insurance. That figures into the loaded hourly rate for an employee too. Killing business with high electric rates and high disability insurance is a certain way to wipe out tax revenues. The state of Idaho is welcoming the return of Buck Knives from El Cajon, CA back to Post Falls, Idaho. Electricity and disability rates triggered the move.
