Nineteen years ago, it was obvious that the NEA would go from bad to worse. Their membership has increased greatly by including cafeteria workers, janitors, etc. And their budget for political mischief has grown enormously.

The teachers unions have been a huge part of the liberalcause thru their large funding and their campaign workers.

I believe this is one of the biggest threats we face in our country. The indoctrination of children with their left wing ideology and the graduation of too many kids who can't read or write.

Too bad the pols are scared to death to take them on. We need competition by NON-union workers/teachers.

I think we conservatives are overdue for declaring "war" on the NEA. We have witnessed the decline of our schools and the decimation of the curricula that was dedicated to teaching children the skills and knowledge that would help them succeed. We are seeing the results of over 40 years of sitting on our hands and letting them destroy the most important institution we have; our schools. The time has come to bring it to a close. As the NEA brings it attack dogs to bear on conservatives and conservative values, we should should loose ours on their leftist dogma. TAKE BACK THE SCHOOLS!!!!

The NEA has targeted Republicans in every election for many years. I dare say their failures have well outnumbered their successes. Let them throw their money away. I have no proof other than knowing alot of teachers (my brother is a teacher and I sit on our local school board) but the majority of teachers I know (the vast majority) pay their union dues (because they have to) and vote Republican. That is why they have few electoral victories, they don't have the rank and file united behind them.

I remember being a teacher and hearing dedicated NaziEA members talk about 'starting little revolutions' inside their classrooms. They talked of ignoring any state and national standards and just closing the door when administrators tried to monitor their teaching.

I'm not sure what to do about our educational situation, but it needs to be mucked out. US educational policy currently puts us on a fast track to a Darwin Award.

When are republicans going to grow some balls and take away their non-profit status?? Organizations like this and JJ's PUSH are nothing but political machines for the democrats. The republicans are so afraid of being called kid-killers and racists by the press that they do nothing. By the way have you boycotted your local liberal newspaper? I recommend the aforementioned book "NEA: Trojan Horse in American Education". The book was a real eye opener. As Americans we often take too much for granted and our freedoms allow us to be born optomists and unsuspecting of those who wish the demise of our "American Way". Three things have made a major impact IMO on society's apparent fall from grace. The NEA is a front runner in that they target our impressionable youth. With stay-at-home moms mocked into non-existence, the NEA has been emboldened to socialize/poison our children knowing many of their actions would fall below most parents "radar". The second nefarious influence has been the Warren/Marshall Courts which behind the scenes set many of the abusing legal precidents into motion through their modernizing views of what the Founding Fathers "meant" when the Constitution was forged. The final piece of the puzzle came in the form of the ACLU whose organization of trial lawyers (with coffers overflowing from tobacco claims) and "pocketed" Federal Judges took advantage of the Supreme Court's ambiguous precidents to set the HARD LEFT LIBERAL's agenda into motion. Our American way-of-life softened us into ignoring the subtle "warning signs"... if something didn't affect our immediate life we turned a blind eye to it. We have lost our ability to distinguish evil until it is fast upon us. Every compromise made on our morals has only emboldened those who wish us harm. The church has stood silent, infiltrated from within by those who undermined it's strength, spreading moral relativism as the "little leaven" that ruins the whole loaf. America is asleep and the wolves have thrown off their sheep's clothing...sad but sobering.

What I find interesting is that someone would have the gall to try to take some credit for "Enlightening" us to the fact that the NEA is a pro rat anti American operation. It's kind of like trying to take credit for having coined the word "Friday".

What ever happened to the lawsuit from Mark Levin - Landmark Legal - he went after them and said he was able to prove the NEA was using funds from their members to support democrat candiates - against the wishes of some members. Also .. the NEA is not a "political" group - and therefore does not have to account for its funds. Mark sued to get this changed.

Anybody know what happened - or is this waiting for court time ..??
