I just turned on TV. I know yesterday the head UN guy (I'm too lazy to go find out how to spell his name) was complaining about that, but since then (now that the damage is done and all news services have the story that the "US failed again") the Pentagon has said AND the UN has admitted that they turned down our security help, opting instead to hire a private security firm.
