"Pillsbury All-Purpose, isn't it?"
The rest of the story is not pleasant.
LOL!!! (...especially when all discerning, health-oriented cooks that aren't using whole grains are at least using unbleached flour whenever possible.) ;)

AS A REMINDER OF WHO WE ARE:
The Soldier's Code of Conduct
I am an American fighting man. I serve in the forces which guard my country and our way of life. I am prepared to give my life in their defense.
I will never surrender of my own free will. If in command I will never surrender my men while they still have the means to resist.
If I am captured I will continue to resist by all means available. I will make every effort to escape and aid others to escape. I will accept neither parole nor special favors from the enemy.
If I become a prisoner of war, I will keep faith with my fellow prisoners. I will give no information or take part in any action which might be harmful to my comrades. If I am senior, I will take command. If not I will obey the lawful orders of those appointed over me and will back them up in every way.
When questioned, should I become a prisoner of war, I am required to give name, rank, service number, and date of birth. I will evade answering further questions to the utmost of my ability. I will make no written statements disloyal to my country and its allies or harmful to their cause.
I will never forget that I am an American fighting man, responsible for my actions, and dedicated to the principles which made my country free. I will trust in my God and in the United States of America.

UN says they are staying in Iraq, but they are blaming the US for not having better security.
I just turned on TV. I know yesterday the head UN guy (I'm too lazy to go find out how to spell his name) was complaining about that, but since then (now that the damage is done and all news services have the story that the "US failed again") the Pentagon has said AND the UN has admitted that they turned down our security help, opting instead to hire a private security firm.

BAGHDAD, Iraq (AP)-- < snip >
Except for the recently built concrete wall, U.N. officials at the headquarters refused heavy security because the United Nations "did not want a large American presence outside," said Salim Lone, the U.N. spokesman in Baghdad.

Brings back memories, Sarge. I wish I would have taken it as seriously when I was in as I would take it now.

I saw that girl on Leno. Really cute, articulate kid. (So cute in fact that if she weren't doing something to support the military, I bet Hollywood would already have her starring in her own show!)

Hurrah! You got to talk to your son. PLEASE be sure he knows that the Veterans for Peace people DO NOT represent the majority. Please be sure he knows HOW MUCH we appreciate and thank him for the job that he and all our troops are doing!! And please be sure his Mom knows how much we thank her too for her job as Military Mom.

Your poem reminded me of this one:
Do you know why there are so many trees in Paris?
Because the Germans refuse to march in direct sunlight!
