Gangster ends life by consuming lizard
Excelsior Correspondent
JAMMU, Aug 18: An arrested gangster committed suicide by consuming a lizard in the lock-up of Satwari Police Station.
Police spokesman said that the gangster was arrested by DySP Special Branch Pritam Singh on August 15 and was kept in the Satwari Police Station for questioning. After two days of interrogation, the gangster reportedly consumed a lizard in the lock-up.
Some police personnel saw him consuming the lizard and shifted him to Government Medical College Hospital Jammu. Doctors attending on him provided him stomach wash but he could not survive.
A case under Section 459 and 460 RPC had already been registered against the gangster.

WOW this could replace lethal injection. How do we get some of those lizards? I can see it how. The new serial assisted suicide king. Instead of it being Jack "The Dripper" Kervorkian, Jack "The Reptiler" Lizardian will craw out from under a rock.

With the stomach wash I think that they were more concerned about the lizard doing some quick damage that would cause internal bleeding.
He'd need antidote if it were poisonous. That or for them to pump his stomach.

Deadly Lizards : All myth, no truth
In India, we often hear stories of people being poisoned by lizards and thus each lizard caught is killed. But there is absolutely no need to wage a war on these reptiles, as India does not have a single species of poisonous lizards. Poisonous varieties, such as the Gila monster, are only to be found in the Americas. But then, if any kind of animal falls into your supply of drinking water and dies, its decaying body may putrefy the water and make you sick. To say that the lizard was poisonous does not hold good and its wiser to keep such water covered and protected from any kind of falling matter.

(Are the physicians in Egypt's capital Cairopractors?)
The beaded lizard and the Gila lizard are the only two poisonous lizards in the world.
