The UN didn't WANT to be guarded by coalition forces so that they could show Iraquis that they are an independent force. My son was one of the first responders to the attack and he said that it would have been impossible to guard against this particular attack because vehicles were allowed to pass very close to the wall.

Pershing detailed a patrol to bring in six known terrorists... Didn't happen. Made up urban internet legend. Wish it had, though.

This is pretty ironic considering the U.N.'s support of Palestinian terrorism.
The U.N. probably considers this a 'Friendly Fire Incident'.

No this is a wake up call for the UN that even though they have turned a blind eye to terrorist they are now a target and WE the US are trying to something about it. Right on the mark!
Very, very well said.
Yes it is well said - too bad the message will most likely fall on deaf ears.

And the turd vomitted up his usual refrain that we shouldn't have gone to Iraq-- talk about coming through in the breach. What a worthless POS our Senator Graham is. I mentioned on another thread last night that the one good thing to come out of the nine dwarves' constant attacks on President Bush was that Graham has proven beyond all doubt that he is unfit to keep his Senate seat (actually, I called him an "anal-retentive little nutsack"), and that as a result his approval ratings here in Florida have dropped to the point where I think a good, solid Republican candidate actually has a chance to beat him if he decides to try to keep his Senate seat and drop out of the presidential race.
We need to send a strong message that one of the primary missions of the GOP in 2004 is to send Bob Graham and his little diaries back to South Florida.

Also, he doesn't have a chance in Hell of becoming Veep. The Democrat candidate that picks that horrible SOB for Veep is crazyl. We all must remember that Senator Graham at the time of the vote to authorize War in Iraq said that he didn't vote for it, not because he was antiwar, but because it wasn't strong enough. He felt we should have bypassed Iraq and went to Syria and Lebanon instead. I can assure you had we done that Saddam would still be in power and we would be attacking the tail. So Graham is radioactive.
Nowadays he doesn't remind anybody that he wanted something "stronger," he just says the vague, "I thought we should have kept going after Al Qaeda." He doesn't mention Syria or Lebanon-- which basically give harbor to anti-Israel terror groups. By the way, I am all for getting rid of Assad in Syria, but to do that without getting rid of Saddam is insane.

"Did you know they don't screen foreign callers at the Capitol Bldg? Castro and Arafat's pals could be calling our elected reps 24/7 complaining. My head hurts just thinking about this possibility."
That is frighteningly probable-- there are people in the Democratic caucus that would have Saddam on speed dial if they could.

I think Sen. Graham knows exactly what he's up to - following the DNC pre-scripted war campaign, willing to undermine America for the sake of power during wartime.
Maybe Ann Coulter will mention him in 'Treason II'...so many traitors, so little time.

I also wouldn't mind that one little bit -Syria's a festering sore that's been begging for a lancing for a long time.

Maybe Ann Coulter will mention him in 'Treason II'...so many traitors, so little time.Graham surely deserves having Annie shred him. And I do think he's made himself very beatable. All the Republicans need to do is keep playing those clips where he's raving about impeachment. Ironically, Graham may have done us all a HUGE favor by taking out another sure hold in the Senate for the Rats in 2004 - they now have another seat that they'll need to spend money and resources on defending. And they HAVE to spend it - between Miller's retirement, Hollings' classless exit, Edwards' free-fall in NC and now Graham Cracker's Captain Queeg-style implosion, the Rats are in real danger of being almost completely shut out of the South.
All we need is a good, solid candidiate to take him out. So far, my favorite is Mark Foley, but it's still so early. All that I DO know is that I don't want to see McCollum run again - he ran a very poor campaign against Nelson.

The real target should be Iran-- then Assad wouldn't even be able to grow a mustache.
To: CFC__VRWC
There are rumors about Foley's sexuality that could get us in the same mess we had in the Montana Senate race to oust Max Mucous. Remember the harirdresser ad?
To: Ragtime Cowgirl
That memo should appear in a GOP ad. That is DNA evidence of their treason. They really have gotten positvely gruesome. Every time one of them opens their mouth I feel the same way I did while watching Gore in the debates-- a potent mixture of rage and revulsion.
To: faithincowboys
I remember that well - the Republican (I don't remember his name) just went to pieces after that ad came out.
Unfortunately, the one weakness the Florida GOP has is in viable candidiates for the US Senate - there just aren't that many. I've heard Katherine Harris mentioned as a possibility, but she's just not ready yet, IMO (I'd like to see her take on Bill Nelson in 2006). Other than that no one really jumps out except for Foley and McCollum, and I've already given my opinion of him. The good news, though, is that it's early yet, and if Graham doesn't run, the Rats are in even worse shape when it comes to picking a replacement.

The real target should be Iran-- then Assad wouldn't even be able to grow a mustache. But on the other hand, Syria would be the easier one to take out, and wiping them out would really put the screws to the mullahs in Iran.
