I can't believe an attorney tried to help this pedophile attack children by suing to get him a permit to perform for them. Personally, I would never aid such a client, because he is clearly using the attorney's representation to aid him in committing a serious crime. In a just world, an attorney providing this sort of assistance would face ethical charges. Thank goodness the Federal judge did not force the county to issue a permit to this individual.

When first reading this headline, I wasn't sure if it was Bill or Hillary getting the $2500?

The county also cited Hobbs' criminal past as another factor in refusing him the right to perform. Hobbs pleaded guilty in 1978 to second-degree sexual abuse after New Rochelle police charged him with luring an 11-year-old boy into his office and fondling him. Four years later, a Pennsylvania judge sentenced Hobbs to nine months in jail for molesting a 14-year-old boy while driving him to church, where Hobbs performed his clown show for children.
Umm...yeah...that's a problem.

. . . and if the park officials had hired him resulting in a child being molested, would the "good" judge have awarded parents a damage settlement?
This is not an example of a judge we need on the bench!

Is that his actual title? The Pedophile Clown? Does his costume consist of see-through trousers and a honky-ball on his... ummmm....
"Here, Peter. Sit on Peddy The Clowns lap. No, move over a little. There. Right there."

Anyone who enjoys clowns has been stripped of natures internal fright or flight mechanism IMHO. I would not even let a clown figure in my room as a kid, nor would I sit in some booze stinkin stranger's lap at Christmas time in some strange ritual.
There are fringes or edges in any society. Ours is has a perimeter of clowns, santa's, mummers, priests, Gary Condit's, and of course today's politician.
God gave you those tiny little hairs that stand on end for a reason you know........

. . . and if the park officials had hired him resulting in a child being molested, would the "good" judge have awarded parents a damage settlement? This hinges on the fact that Rye Playland is a public park, though the attactions are concessions granted to private businesses. He wasn't "hired" by anybody. He was just a member of the public visiting a public park. It still stinks, of course.

Just wondering why John Wayne Gacy's story was not mentioned. Perhaps the judge did not allow the name of that serial molester/rapist/ murderer into supportive evidence for the defense since this new evil clown had
"only" been convicted and served time for child molestation.
It is reprehensible when courts affirm the rights of a convicted child molester as more important than the safety of our children.

I could not agree with you more. I don't know why we are to just blindly trust these people. Just because they are dressed in a dorky costume doesn't mean that they are harmless.
Same with the "security" people at airports, etc.
Ever see the movie Clowns?? *shutter*
