Supporters Rally for the Ten Commandments

Chief Justice Roy Moore was right at home Saturday talking to a crowd of supporters gathered in Montgomery.
Moore told the crowd, "It's not about me. I will pass away...but the laws of God will remain forever... It's not about politics. It's not about religion... Let's get it straight. It's about one thing. It's about the acknowledgement of the God upon which this nation and her laws are founded."
"If this ruling is allowed to stand, it will reverberate from state to state to state to the nation's Capitol and the acknowledgement of God will be taken from us. If we sit quietly by while this inalienable right is taken even the rocks and the trees and the stones that you see will cry out."
"If I should fail to do my duty in this case, for fear of giving offense, Iwould consider myself guilty of treason toward my country and of an act of disloyalty toward the majesty of heaven which I revere above all earthly kings."
The Alabama chief justice went on to tell supporters, "We are fighting a battle. You're a soldier , if you don't know it...It's spiritual warfare."
Reading from one of his poems Judge Moore said of the nation's Founding Fathers, "These men would never question the sovereignty of God...I'm glad they're not here with us to see the mess we're in...Darkness is now called light."
Other speakers called Judge Moore a "modern day Daniel being destroyed by the juggernaut of evil" and asked that pastors "speak up" and churches wake up. "The nation is like it is because the church has fallen asleep,"said Rick Scarborough of Vision America.
Speaker after speaker called for Christians to take a stand, "Let it go out across the state, across this nation, we urge you to do the will of God."
Ambassador Alan Keyes told the crowd, "What the judges are doing...is imposing a uniform national regime of disbelief and atheism on this country. They are doing exactly what the Constitution of the United States forbids."
Keyes said the President and the Congress could take courageous action to "put the bridle on these unruly courts."
Evangelist Jerry Falwell told the cheering crowd, "Civil disobedience is the right of all men when we believe breaking man's law is needed to preserve God's law."
Groups are rallying in Montgomery Saturday morning to support Judge Roy Moore and his decision not to remove the Ten Commandments monument from the rotunda of the Alabama Judicial Building.
Vision America's Rick Scarborough says people are in Montgomery from as far away as Wisconsin and Colorado. Calling this a "decisive battle in a 40-year culture war against our faith" Scarborough believes "a militant minority is stripping vestiges of our faith from the public square."
WSFA will have complete coverage on WSFA News 12 at 6 and 10.

Praise God for men like Judge Moore, Mel Gibson and others who are willing to tell the truth about life and liberty.

I would love to see a poll on the general freeper perception of the doctrine of separation between church and state. There's been plenty enough articles posted on this, for people to form an opinion.
Inquiring minds want to know:
opinion one: Is America a Christian Nation?
opinion two: Is America a Secular State that tolerates Christianity as well as other religions?
opinion three: Is America a mixture of the above on a state to state basis?
opinion four: Is this a federal matter?
opinion five: I don't know or care or other?
or something similar...
I would love to see the numbers amongst us freepers recorded BEFORE this goes to the supreme court...

Bump! There are times and seasons when events try men's souls. Today's judicial tyrants who in the service of the ACLU, seek to wipe out public acknowledgement of our nation's religious heritage is exactly an occasion where good men need to stand up and say "NO." Either America is a nation who independence, the rights of individuals, and its laws are rooted in the notion they're an inalienable act of grace from God or this country is just a government of men and our relations to it and our state as persons exist solely at their sufferance. This what this struggle in Alabama is being fought over today.

It cannot be emphasized too strongly or too often that this great nation was founded, not by religionists, but by Christians; not on religions, but on the gospel of Jesus Christ. For this very reason peoples of other faiths have been afforded asylum, prosperity, and freedom of worship here. --Patrick Henry

I was there. It was a great rally! Here's the latest scoop. Bizarre as this sounds, the latest true threat to actually enforcing the illegal removal order rests with Alabama's attorney general BILL PRYOR! Pryor has now stated publically that he will NOT support judge Moore! Much of the rally focused on getting Pryor to change his mind. Everyone was told to call Pryor's office at (334)242-7300. Please do so. Once again, we our sadly on the verge of destroying ourselves. Please call Pryor. Allan Keyes pubically declared that if Pryor sides with Jugde Moore, Bush may give him an August recess appointment! By the way, Judge Moore gave one of the best speeches I have ever heard. All of the speakers stated they would go to jail if necessary to stop the removal. A line has been drawn in the sand. Please help get this info out on talk radio!!

yea, take the God out of our lives and replace it with condoms, gay "couples", environment BS and other PC crap. Then Lie-berman will come on a white horse and bring (his) God (OK with ACLU).
Enough of liberal crap, time to stand up! Freep & Roll!

I haven't heard a man speak this way in a very long time. Judge Roy Moore is truly a wise man. Every word I've heard him say speaks the truth with courage and conviction. He fears no one but God. May the Lord continue to bless and protect him.
I only wished I could have been at that rally because I believe this issue is one of the nation's defining moments. This is a fork in the road. What americans will allow to happen here will determine whether we totally abandon this nation's christian heritage or reclaim it.

Absolutely true. If we let the left walk away with the 10 commandmants, America will be lost.

"What the judges are doing...is imposing a uniform national regime of disbelief and atheism on this country. They are doing exactly what the Constitution of the United States forbids."
The proof of that is that they CAN put up other objects in the courthouse that are their form of expression.

From The Federalist:
Supreme Court Chief Justice William Rehnquist has noted previously, "The wall of separation between church and state is a metaphor based upon bad history, a metaphor which has proved useless as a guide to judging. It should be frankly and explicitly abandoned. ... The greatest injury of the 'wall' notion is its mischievous diversion of judges from the actual intention of the drafters of the Bill of Rights."
Ironically, in the Supreme Court, the Ten Commandments are etched in a marble relief above the Justices' bench, for indeed they are the moral foundation of American law.
Thompson, meanwhile, renewed his demand that Chief Justice Moore remove the monument by August 20 and threatened "substantial fines against Chief Justice Moore in his official capacity, and thus against the state of Alabama itself, until the monument is removed."
Stepping into the fight in late July, Congress voted 260-161 for an amendment to defund any effort by U.S. Marshals to remove the monument. "None of the funds appropriated in this [bill] may be used to enforce the judgment of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 11th Circuit," said Rep. John Hostettler.
The foundational question all constitutional constructionists should be asking: On what legitimate constitutional grounds can a federal judge lodge demands, punishments and fines against chief judicial officers in the several states -- or does the federal bench now assume that the states are nothing more than administrative agencies of the central government -- rather than federally separated governments subject to their own constitutional sovereignty?
To assess the importance of this case, consider this evaluation from 11th Circuit Judge Carnes in his ruling against Chief Justice Moore: "If Alabama Chief Justice Roy Moore's Ten Commandments monument were allowed to stand, it would mean a massive revision of how the courts have interpreted the First Amendment for years."
We encourage every American Patriot, who believes as our Founders did that our Constitution should not be subject to the vagaries of an activist Leftjudiciary, to sign an open letter (see
http://patriotpetitions.us/openletter) in support of Chief Justice Roy Moore's defense of religious liberty and states' rights.
