If Hillary will not help Gray then she thinks he is toast. The Clinton's will not do anything with out first figuring out whats in it for them. They do not want to be connected with a loser. If they thought there was an upside for them on this they would be in here with both feet. CA. has 50 plus electoral votes and Hillary would do anything to get them. My theory is that the Clintons never really intended to help Davis but wanted to goose the recall story at a critical juncture by saying they would campaign for him.

Ultimately, they win the less the focus is on the Democrat primaries so Hillary's star can continue to rise.

I don't think they intended to help Davis for one minute. With the Clintons, it's always necessary to analyze the end game when trying to decipher their motives and there was NO upside to helping Davis by campaigning for him and being attached to a loser. Had to be something else at hand.

They played a quip from Davis on the radio this morning, where he declared that the NE blackout didn't affect CA. The hosts varied between pointing out how stupid this was, and how insensitive his comments were.
