I am absolutely conflicted.
I make it a point to miss every Kevin Costner movie; I also make it a point to never miss a Robert Duvall movie. Ms. Benning may be the deciding factor.

Perhaps borrow the DVD when it comes out so you won't be putting any dinero in Costner's wallet.

Is Costner a big Lib? Figures...
Wheres John Wayne when you need him?

Costner's"Wyatt Earp"is one of my favorites! He used what I think is the BEST biography"Wyatt Earp"by Casey Tefertiller.I have heard some promos on the radio, and they seem to be using the same theme-music as "Wyatt Earp"!!

I agree!I have a real problem with Leftist HollyWeirdos!!I will wait until it is on HBO!!!

A bunch of us from SASS (Single Action Shooting Society) are going to hit the Mall of Georgia to see Open Range after the shootin' match Saturday. We'll still be our cowboy clothes and smellin' o' gunsmoke when we get there. Hope it is a good flick.

Go see "Open Range" as Hollywood is looking to see if westerns draw enough to make some more. Forget that Kevin Costner made and is in the movie. The scene shots of the West and Rob't Duvall are enough to make it a worth while movie.

I read it was shot in Alberta so should be scenic at least.

The actors don't get anything from DVD sales????
To: TexasNative2000
Last week some freeper posted a comment from Costner in reference to this movie and George Bush. He tried to have it both ways, saying frontier justice was good for the past but nowadays we were supposed to "grow up" and learn to get along with the rest of the world.
I can't remember it, went looking for it, can't find it.

The actors don't get anything from DVD sales????"Borrow," like from the library or your friend who bought it. (My library has current DVD's.)
Hard decision ... horses, yes ... scenery, yes ... Robert Duvall, yes ... but whatever Costner has "evolved" into, it sure ain't an actor!

I'm leaving for the theater in less than an hour to see this. I'll give you my thoughts later tonight. It's my 15th wedding anniversary and this is just the first on the planned list of events including dinner. See you guys later!

Happy anniversay I hope you have 50 more.

Costner would not make a pimple on a real Cowboy's rear end.He is a real flop as in Water World.

Thank you. I have to say that we got to the theatre and the wife expressed a strong desire to see "S.W.A.T." and so we went to see that and it was FREAKIN'AWESOME!! I'll have to see Open Range some other time. If you ever saw the old tv series SWAT, this movie is just that updated and enhanced. Even has the old character names and the theme music. It was only mildly anti-gun in the underlying rhetoric and lies concerning weapons used in the flick as well as their capabilities...but heck that's just par for the course. IT WAS STILL AWESOME!!!

Robert Duvall is rumored to be a huge conservative. I think he is even a friend of Rumsfeld. Duvall's dad was in the military (i think he was career) and Duvall hasn't rejected his father. The whiny, androgynous Leftist trip no doubt offends him deeply, as it should.

Enjoyed the movie even though Costner was in it. Good scenery and good tale. Much better flick than what else is out there.
