Lawyers for imprisoned spy Jonathan Pollard will have 40 minutes in a federal courtroom on September 2nd to explain why they should be permitted to continue efforts to rescind his life sentence, the Jewish Telegraph Agency reports.
Attorneys Jacques Semmelman and Eliot Lauer will get 30 minutes to argue why they should be permitted to appeal, the government can take a half hour to respond, and then Pollard s attorneys will be granted 10 minutes for the last word.
The hearing will reportedly focus on two issues:
- Was Pollard's March 1987 conviction based on a misleading secret 46-page affidavit?
- Was Pollard denied due process by a defense attorney who declined to file a routine appeal after Judge Aubrey Robinson threw a crowded courtroom into pandemonium with an unexpected life sentence?
Pollard has already has served far longer than the average for people convicting of spying either for enemies of the United States or for allies.
Pollard has already has served far longer than the average for people convicting of spying either for enemies of the United States or for allies.Let Pollard serve just a little bit longer, like, say, until he dies of natural causes, or until those who were killed because Pollard compromised them rise from the dead to argue for Pollard's release.
Sounds like a fair compromise.
You have that right! Every American citizen should be appalled that a release for this spy is even being discussed!
. . . for what? . . . for another article on this topic or for a duplicate? And If I should find another article on this topic . . . so what? FYI . . . I used this search string, "Pollard to get".
Go to bed, newbie.
Clearly a majority of FReeper posts regarding Pollard are rock hard against his release, no matter what.
No matter the injustice of comparative sentences served.
No matter that some of the prisoners Clintoon (forced) influenced Israel to release, some of these released prisoners have fresh Israeli blood on their hands.
How would we as Americans feel if a publicized case were constantly brought up in the media, supposedly a bargaining chip, part of prisoner exchanges or prisoner release, then refused after indicating a "deal" was made.
over and over again ...
If it were an American in some other country's jail, I'd be unhappy about that.
Mohammad Atta
3,000 dead Americans
Trillion-dollar blow to GNP
Thanks, Clintons
And there was a risk of that happening when clinton (forced) influenced Israel to release him and the others who then committed other acts of terrorism.
This has no direct bearing on the Pollard case, however if he were an American in another country's jail and that country had such easily mentioned double standards, many other Americans as well as I would be very disappointed.
So why is George Soros trying to get another Bill Clinton in office? Why does the list of the top DNC donors look like this:
George Soros: $10 millionSomebody explain it to me. I can't figure it out.
Haim Saban: $9.1 million
Fred Eychaner, :$7.4 million
Steven Bing: $7.1 million
Steve Kirsch: $3.3 million
Bernard Schwartz:$2.3 million
Don't forget those poor innocents Sacco and Vanzetti. That is where this crap started.
Congressman Anthony Weiner, D-N.Y., recently wrote a letter to President Bush in which he stated: "The facts of the case show that none of the information provided by Mr. Pollard resulted in the loss of lives or the utility of any agents, the need to replace or relocate intelligence equipment, the loss of sources of information, or the compromising of technology. And while sentences in espionage cases are traditionally proportional to the damage caused, Mr. Pollard's sentence is in gross violation of this principle. Having reviewed many of the documents in the case myself and received numerous briefings on the subject, I believe that if anyone were to conduct an original review of Mr. Pollard's case, they would come to the same conclusion that I have: Mr. Pollard's sentence does not fit his crime."
Clinton sent Carville to insert Barak and oust Netanyahu to facilitate Arafat's terror.
It was also Clinton who fired Woolsey for saying Ramzi Yousef was an Iraqi agent.
Now Laurie Mylroie says both Ramzi Yousef and Khalid Sheik Mohammed are Iraqi agents sheepdipped as Pakistan Baluch via stolen Kuwaiti passports.
Hillary blames Bush for the current power outage in her adopted home state, although her copresidency did nothing to correct the conditions she deplores.
As for the shoulder-fired missile threat, what was Flight 800, if not that? Suppressed by the Clintons along with the Iraqi John Doe Number Two at OKC unmasked by Jayna Davis.
There is more to this than has been hawked and hyped.
The treason of the Clintons.
Now comes Boris Berezovsky to mock the Israeli security forces for failing in the war on terror--
--and there have been 180 terror attacks since the hudna was declared in June.
What will Hillary instigate to destroy Bush's popularity and the U.S. economy so she can ascend to her throne next year--
--since she will be consumed by that soccer ball abdominal tumor before 2008.
