Pollard has already has served far longer than the average for people convicting of spying either for enemies of the United States or for allies.
Let Pollard serve just a little bit longer, like, say, until he dies of natural causes, or until those who were killed because Pollard compromised them rise from the dead to argue for Pollard's release.

We surely have spies locked up in China or Russia, maybe all over the place.
How would we as Americans feel if a publicized case were constantly brought up in the media, supposedly a bargaining chip, part of prisoner exchanges or prisoner release, then refused after indicating a "deal" was made.

If it were an American in some other country's jail, I'd be unhappy about that.
