The computer we bought from my son's friend did not have current patches nor antivirus software. It is infected with a virus that is sophisticated enough to terminate an installation of Norton Antivirus or PC-Cillin. I'm too tired to screw with it anymore tonight. I'm going to wipe the Windows 2000 off the disk and replace it with the Windows XP Home that my son is running on his current computer. His current computer will be slicked and updated with Windows XP home that his older brother is running on a PII 300. I'm just going to remove the good components from the PII 300 and run it back to the local recycler. That should wipe out most of Saturday. My wife and I are going to visit Yellowstone Park on Sunday.

People who write viruses should be locked in a level 5 biocontainment room and infected with ebola. Their remains should be incinerated and flushed down a toilet.

I don't know if you went to Symantec's help site, but they have this. I had to run a couple of other Norton unistallers and download a program that runs old virus definitons. It found a trojan virus that wouldn't let me run NAV after I installed it.

I got Blastered about a month ago, got a new HD and Windows XP, along with Norton, firewall etc. Sometimes I wonder if a genius at Microsoft is creating worms and thats how they get rich!
