Secularism and Christianity cannot coexist. One has to exterminate the other. The world can be one or the other, not both.
Christians have been gradually marginalized. They will soon find themselves gradually being banned if they don't wake up.

Genuine Jews and Christians seeks the ways of the Lord, and His ways are ways of gentleness and all his paths are peace. Not to belittle one ioda this thought, however when the Lord returns, there is not going to be much gentleness to be found.
There is no question Jesus, God is peace, but what some do not think about is He is also just. He came to fulfill the law in a peaceful manner, the scripture says he will not return in the same. The bible lays it out very succintly so there is no excuse for those who do not believe.
Whoa!

Because one of the charges against Mel Gibson and The Passion is that reliance upon the Gospels is typical Christian hillbilly mentality - and yet this is the precise belief structure that created the vast majority of intellectual understanding of the modern world.

I cannot wait. I might have to tape it though, since I have a friend visiting whom I haven't seen in over a month this weekend. Ohh, the dilemma.

India and China were vastly wealthier and more ancient than Europe, but science simply did not exist in either of these ancient civilizations. Know what Walker means by this? Chinese were drilling for natural gas 1,000 years ago and the metallurgy of both areas was more advanced than the west. Is Walker defining "science" as a method and relegating Asian technology as the creation of artisans?

"Christians have sometimes failed to understand Jews and Judaism."
And Jews have sometimes failed to understand Christians and Christianity. So what's new?

Good catch. A measured and honest column.
but science simply did not exist in either of these ancient civilizations.
I have no idea! From my lofty perch, I'd say the contruction of the pyramids was an exercise in science!

If you ever plan on being marooned on an island or going to prison, be sure to pack Joseph Needham's Science and Civilisation in China. Seventeen volumes as I recall. Amazing stuff.

Banning the bible is already here, at least certain "offensive" passages, in some countries. This trend appears to be spreading. The next logical step is outlawing Christianity altogether, then martyrdom.

Hipparcus measured the distance to the moon in 123 BC. The Greeks also measured the diameter of the earth. Most of modern geometry and a fair bit of algebra was discovered by the Greeks. The Arabs invented chemistry. The Indians did important research in algebra. People have already referrd to the Chinese.
