I went to the kick-off last week and heard him in person for the first time. I live in Ventura County (his home county) so he is a very familiar, well known person around here.

I think the immigration issue and the pro-choice issue are going to be big ones in this election 'cause everyone is going to say he/she is going to fix the budget, reduce spending, etc. Wonder when Cruz is going to position himself on these issues.

By the way for any readers, Tom talked about how he would enforce the current immigration laws and he thinks the driver's license proposal for illegal aliens is a very bad idea. He would like to adopt AZ's Worker's Comp program - should reduce costs substantially. Also said CA is the only state in the nation that doesn't require independent/objective assessment of injury by a doctor in order to receive Worker's Comp.
