If you will, please remember this tiny baby in your prayers. Hes the grandson of a very dear friend of mine. Logan was born on July 25. His due date was in October, making his mommy 26 weeks along, being born 3 months and 3 days early.
Logan was 1 lb 9.4 oz when he was born and is now weighing, as of this morning, 1 lb. 8.3 oz. The little guy is now 12-1/2 long.
Hes a real trooper and is fighting with all his little body can fight with. His Grandma said that hes starting to recognize his mommy when she comes in the room and hears her voice. She said he tries so hard to open his eyes, and starts kicking his feet.
I asked my friend if there were any specific prayers, other than the obvious
and this is her reply
A prayer of thanks for the miracle called "Logan.
On a personal note, Ive read the emails daily from my friend. Ive known her for years, Ive heard her talking about her family for years
but Ive got to tell you that Im SO impressed with how her children have all banded together in support. What an incredibly wonderful and loving family.
Father God, we lift up Logans little body to you. We pray that you can strengthen him hourly, daily, weekly, until hes grown enough to go home with his precious family. We ask for guidance for the doctors and nurses who are caring for him. We ask for strength for his parents and extended family. Thank you so much for the gift of life. In Jesus Name, Amen

Thiry years ago my Godson was born 3 months early. He is now an elementary school teacher with a 2 yr old daughter of his own. Prayers do work and mine are with this family. Thank you for reminding me of the miracles that God performs.

Prayers on the way.
My co-worker's daughter-in-law had a little girl who was 3 months premature and weighed about the same. A year later she is the most charming little girl I have ever seen! So keep praying, miracles do happen.

Please update us of Logan's condition if possible.

Yesterday I met a little girl who was born three months early and only weighed 1 lb, 4 oz at birth. She is now a happy healthy 18 month old with a new baby sister just born less than 2 weeks ago.
God bless this beautiful little boy and his whole family. They will certainly be in my prayers. Keep us posted on his progress please!

It's normal for a newborn to lose some weight as they transition before they start really gaining (docs usually let new parents know this off the bat, so they don't flip out) - obviously for a child this size it's significant.
But children almost half his weight have gone on to thrive - so I have high hopes for the little guy! The fact that he's responding so soon to his mom's presence is a really positive sign.
God bless him.

Lord, we thank you for this precious new life You have brought into the world and ask for Your blessings upon him. Watch over Logan and keep him held close to Your heart. Guide the medical professionals caring for him. We thank You for the faith of his family and ask that You give them strength.
And, Father, we thank You for the lives of other tiny newborns whose stories are mentioned on this thread. Bless their families and let them continue to witness to Your greatness and Your nurturing love. Amen.

Preemies usually do lose a little bit of weight, not to worry. My little girl did.
Lord bless this little miracle child and his family.
