If you will, please remember this tiny baby in your prayers. Hes the grandson of a very dear friend of mine. Logan was born on July 25. His due date was in October, making his mommy 26 weeks along, being born 3 months and 3 days early.
Logan was 1 lb 9.4 oz when he was born and is now weighing, as of this morning, 1 lb. 8.3 oz. The little guy is now 12-1/2 long.
Hes a real trooper and is fighting with all his little body can fight with. His Grandma said that hes starting to recognize his mommy when she comes in the room and hears her voice. She said he tries so hard to open his eyes, and starts kicking his feet.
I asked my friend if there were any specific prayers, other than the obvious and this is her reply A prayer of thanks for the miracle called "Logan.
On a personal note, Ive read the emails daily from my friend. Ive known her for years, Ive heard her talking about her family for years but Ive got to tell you that Im SO impressed with how her children have all banded together in support. What an incredibly wonderful and loving family.
Father God, we lift up Logans little body to you. We pray that you can strengthen him hourly, daily, weekly, until hes grown enough to go home with his precious family. We ask for guidance for the doctors and nurses who are caring for him. We ask for strength for his parents and extended family. Thank you so much for the gift of life. In Jesus Name, Amen

I have no artistic abilities at all, neither does my wife, but our 10 year old son has great talent (neither did his grandparents, so where....?)and he has art lessons today after I pick him up from school. Since he started these lessons, I have had a greater appreciation for the subtleties of the work that I see. I know that this work is outstanding.
As for the web hosting costs, we have a website that never comes close to using all the bandwidth that is allowed per month. Adding a few pictures to the site doesn't cost anything. If you are interested, I have seen hosting services for as little as $5/month (less if you pay yearly). I have used the service to host my son's school pictures, special parties, scans of letters and other info that I wanted to transfer electonically and wouldn't work as well through E-mail.
One time I took a lot of pictures of my son's schoolmates at a special function and a lot a parents wanted copies. I uploaded them all to the server and let whoever wanted them to download all they wanted. The web reports showed people (presumably grandparents etal) from all over the country accessed the photos. It was sure a lot easier than having hardcopies made for everyone.
Another prayer for Logan. I hope that we hear soon.
Welcome to the world dear Logan.
It is the morning of your life, sweet baby, and all of your dreams will soon begin. You came into this world on the wings of hope, and you are filled with stardust and moonlight, innocence and belief, and with all of the promise of tommorow.
May you always be surounded by listening hearts and nurturing hands. May you know the glory of unconditional kindness ,and gentle teachings.
May your dreams touch the sky, and may you always know how very much you are loved.
Welcome to the world little one.
~THE BABY~
Where did you come from, baby dear?
Out of the everywhere into the here.
Where did you get your eyes so blue?
Out of the sky as I came through.
What makes the light in them sparkle and spin?
Some of the starry spikes left in.
Where did you get that little tear?
I found it waiting when I got here.
What makes your forehead so smooth and high?
A soft hand stroked it as I went by.
What makes your cheek like a warm white rose?
Something better than anyone knows.
Whence that three-cornered smile of bliss?
Three angels gave me at once a kiss.
Where did you get that pearly ear?
God spoke, and it came out to hear.
Where did you get those arms and hands?
Love made itself into hooks and bands.
Feet, whence did you come, you darling things?
From the same box as the cherub's wings.
How did they all just come to be you?
God thought about me, and so I grew.
But how did you come to us, you dear?
God thought of you, and so I am here.
Wishful thinking ,huh? Tick... Tick.. Tick.
I am praying for results over here.. anyone here this prayer? Anyone? ;}
I'm with ya, tick... tick... tick...

Brad's gamma is out of town for two weeks.
What do you mean that Brad's Gramma is out of town for two weeks? What is the matter with her? Isn't she addicted to FR like the rest of us? How can she just leave like she is some kind of normal person? Most Freepaholics have severe withdrawl symptoms in a matter of hours after leaving their computer, how can she live through 2 weeks?
What about our Logan fix for the day? I'm starting to get the shakes, and........ and..........
I think I need some fresh air................
I wish that I had the information about the author, maybe I could find some of their other works, but alas.....
"Hi to all....
TC, I'm sorry for sending this late for you to post, but it's been a long day for our little Termite and for all of us as you well know.
First and most important, as of this writing, he is doing fine. He underwent the surgery at about 2:15 this afternoon, and it took them just over an hour to do what was necessary for the repair. Logan had two "huge" hernias, both on the right and left side, and the doctor said that he was surprised they were as large as they were. He came out of the surgery and was immediately sent back to NICU for his recovery period. He is on a ventilator, but they hope to be able to take him off of it later tonight or possibly tomorrow. He just doesn't want to breathe on his own right now we're told. We have also been told that 50% of the babies start breathing on their own right away, and 50% don't, and of course our little guy with the "cruddy" lungs just can't do it by himself right now.
If I can back this day up a bit, allow me to do so. I went up to the hospital a little before 5 a.m. to see him before all of the preparation started with him... and to tell him that Nana loves him. For the first time, I saw the temper and fight this little guy has!! He was hungry, they had already set the IV in his hand and Logan was not a happy camper. He was crying an "I'm mad and hungry cry", and he wanted to make sure that Nana saw what they were doing to him! Poor little baby. But it's something that had to be done.... he had had increasing dsats and apnea attacks over these past 4 days and they think it was from the pain of the hernias. And if you think about it, when something hurts you, the first thing you do is hold your breath!
His surgery was originally scheduled for noon, but as in so many times, one of the ones before him took more time than they thought was going to be necessary. Thus the reason he was late getting in.
Beth visited with him during his recovery time as soon as she could see him, but they asked her to leave because when he heard her voice and knew his mommy was around, he became very agitated and they want to keep him as calm as possible. TC can attest to the love these 2 have for each other. When Logan even hears her voice in the distance, that little head turns and he's looking for her. So Uncle TC and Nana got to visit with him for just a few minutes.
He looks good.... those beautiful pink cheeks are still there. He was crying, although you can't hear it because of the ventilator, but we all think he's hungry since he hasn't eaten since 3 am this morning. And for a bitty fellow.... that a really long time!
The doctors tell us that he will be swollen and sore for quite a few days, but that's ok... at least he's "fixed" now and when this pain goes away, maybe the dsats and apnea's will again stop.
Logan looked like a regular little hospital patient on his way to surgery. He had on a hospital gown, and with the soft cast on his little foot to try and correct it's turned position, he looked like he had been to war!!
What a precious, precious gift we have. Once again, God has given Logan the strength to endure another step in his road.... another step guided by God with the help of his friends on Free Republic. Our entire family realizes what you all have done for us... for our special baby..... and he is indeed "our" baby...... our family's and yours. Uncle TC always tells him that he visits for the Freeper Family of his and all of those who care about him and love him. Logan has won the heart of the TexasCowboy.... he has shown so many of us the miracle that God performs when a child is conceived. And what love and prayers can accomplish.
As we all left Logan this evening, it was with peace and gratitude to all for helping us once again to another open door in Logan's Life. The day began dark and raining, and just about the time Logan was due into surgery, the sun came out bright and stayed with us the rest of the day. It was ironic that the day matched the mood of those of us who were there. This tiny infant continues to bring joy to those who know him and those who know of him. He is teaching us all that indeed God listens to our prayers and rewards us as such. And most of all.... Logan, tiny little Logan, sends his love, his appreciation and his prayers for his Freeper Family and the Freeper Mates who are so much a part of his and his family's life.
Indeed Logan continues to reach for the stars.... with the help of God of course :) Thank you all ever so much again.... our baby has once again benefited by your caring, loving ways."
Thank you, Nana!
By the grace of God and the countless prayers of all of us who love him, our little Logan, THE TEXAS TERMITE, is doing well.
Thank you, God!
Nana mentioned that he can hear his mommy when she speaks, no matter how low she talks.
That's true. He always starts shifting around trying to follow that voice.
But he also knows when she's there, whether she speaks or not.
I was watching him when she walked up behind his bed this afternoon without saying a word.
His little eyes were closed, but his eyebrows went up and he started trying to shift his body in that direction.
Extra-sensory perception?
Probably. Like I've said a hundred times, this is a special baby.
OKAY, OKAY!! I KNOW! PICTURES!!

Thank you for your patience, folks.
This has been a long and rewarding day.
You could search the world over and not find a more devoted mommy and grandmommy than Logan's mommy and his Nana.
May God bless them for their untiring efforts, and may God bless you freepers for your thoughts and your prayers.
