If you will, please remember this tiny baby in your prayers. Hes the grandson of a very dear friend of mine. Logan was born on July 25. His due date was in October, making his mommy 26 weeks along, being born 3 months and 3 days early.
Logan was 1 lb 9.4 oz when he was born and is now weighing, as of this morning, 1 lb. 8.3 oz. The little guy is now 12-1/2 long.
Hes a real trooper and is fighting with all his little body can fight with. His Grandma said that hes starting to recognize his mommy when she comes in the room and hears her voice. She said he tries so hard to open his eyes, and starts kicking his feet.
I asked my friend if there were any specific prayers, other than the obvious and this is her reply A prayer of thanks for the miracle called "Logan.
On a personal note, Ive read the emails daily from my friend. Ive known her for years, Ive heard her talking about her family for years but Ive got to tell you that Im SO impressed with how her children have all banded together in support. What an incredibly wonderful and loving family.
Father God, we lift up Logans little body to you. We pray that you can strengthen him hourly, daily, weekly, until hes grown enough to go home with his precious family. We ask for guidance for the doctors and nurses who are caring for him. We ask for strength for his parents and extended family. Thank you so much for the gift of life. In Jesus Name, Amen
Fellow Freepers .I bring you Logan!!!
Awwwwwww........how PRECIOUS!
They are, but they are also at the swarming stage. I was draped in rug rats while trying to guard the tree. Kathryn never goes around things. She either bats them out of the way, or crawls over them.
They are now almost 14 months old, Nov. 5 was their birthday, but should have been more like Dec. 9th or so. They are small, but progressing nicely. Kat is about 2 pounds lighter than Beth, that's up from a pound and a half when they were born. Both are doing "regular" hands and knees type crawl, Kat just picked that up within the last couple of weeks, she was doing a frog sort of thing before, which was fast but tiring. Both can pull up on most anything, including grandpa. Elizabeth started "walking" around things about 3 weeks ago, Kathryn figured it out less than two weeks later.
In general with gross motor skills, Elizabeth is a couple of weeks ahead, while Kathryn does better at fine motor skills, like getting the food on the spoon into her mouth, instead of on her chin or check. Both particularly enjoyed the smashed 'taters that Grandma Gato made just for them, their Mommy and their big sister, who can't have dairy, not even a little butter. She used chicken broth instead of butter and cream. I don't get many carbs, so I only had a bit of the "regular" batch. They also liked the Turkeys that grandpa baked at Thanksgiving and Christmas. They are good eaters, like their big sister. They like most all vegetables, both raw and cooked, even spinach. :(.
Their Great Grandma is visiting from Nebraska...well living with us for the winter is more like it, after suffering a minor heart attack and some breathing problems just before Thanksgiving.
We had a very thankful Thanksgiving. Both of their Great Grandma's had been in the hospital with heart related problems. Both were out of the woods then and doing pretty well now. Their daddy had his tonsils out about a week before Thanksgiving, He came through fine and now he's almost mended, (that can tough when you are in upper-mid 30s).
Gee whiz Gato, I HAVE been away for a long time. I didn’t even know about the twins. They are adorable. I would be able to tell them apart within an hour by the expressions on their faces. Women have that kind of sixth sense. They look alike on the outside, but they are coming from a totally different place inside. It sounds like you had a blessed Christmas. I wish for you and yours a blessed New Year.
They play tricks, and switch expressions aperiodically. Miss Sober Sides, Kathryn (the little one) will all of sudden be Miss Giggles, and her sister, Miss Smiley, will become Miss Grumpy. Still we are learning to tell them apart, even Grandpa. (They sometimes say "Grandpa", Kathryn's been doing it for months, Elizabeth is still pretty spotty about even mimicking the sound.
Wow. Time flies.
Doesn’t it though?
Oh my, such a beautiful little one! He’s the same age as my step-grandson. They both have the ‘mischief eyes’ so it would not do to turn those two loose together! [Thanks be to God for Logan!]
Woo hoo!! Look at him now!! Way to go, Logan!!
I will say a prayer for him tonight.
He’s a beautiful kid!
Wonderful Logan milestones. Thanks for the photos and the memories.
Keeping the little guy and his family surrounded with prayer.
