[history]
Actor Arnold Schwarzenegger voted for a 1994 ballot measure to deny social services to illegal immigrants, his campaign said Sunday -- offering the first glimpse of the actor's stand on a major policy issue.
The Republican has promoted himself as the candidate in California's gubernatorial recall who can best appeal to the state's politically and ethnically diverse electorate.

Exactly how is this unconstitutional ?Because the Constitution is living, breathing, and subject to the ideologies and whims of Judges./sarcasm off

You hit the nail on the head. I agree with your assessment. These so-called purists have done nothing but hurt and divide our party while standing on principle.

they got one liberal judge to say so...and Davis did not appeal it but put it off to never never land..by the way they attempted to recall him in 1999 when he did this but not enough signatures...

Gorton said Hispanics were among the strongest supporters of Proposition 49, a ballot measure Schwarzenegger successfully campaigned for last year aimed at dedicating as much as $550 million annually to before- and after-school programs.Arnold supported a half billion dollar per year boondoggle at taxpayer expense? That isn't very conservative.

he supports abortion and anyone with a consiense shouldn't support himWow... That is as bad as the people I know that will only vote for pro-choice candidates. That is their only issue too. As I tell them, the Governor has no say so on abortion rights, that's in the hands of the USSC. This election is about getting a leader in office that will be able to use his bully pulpit to straighten out our economic mess.

"There's a famous phrase in our community, and that is, judge a person by the friends that he keeps," Torres said. "And unfortunately, his new chairman, Governor Wilson, supported 187 furiously against immigrants and Latinos."Torres is a piece of crappola. Not only is he passionately racist, but he also condones and supports lawbreaking by his illegal alien Latino breathen. I, like Torres, also judge a person by the friends that he keeps, and among Torres' friends are many racists and lawbreakers.

Your post was an interesting read, but I don't have to agree with a candidate on every issue.
Take homosexuality for instance, if I see that the advancement of the homosexual movement is beginning to take root in my Church, I become alarmed. If I see that the government is attempting to normalize it, I'm not so alarmed really. Because homosexuality while repulsive and self-destructive, is not a crime.
And as the government is a freely elected body of people, whatever legislating takes place, it is within the scope of the electorate to accept or reject it. As a consequence, whatever type of government we get, we deserve.
I have to say though, that your post sure makes Arnold look like he's all brawn and no brain. Not good!

In fact, ol' Cruz will get those very special votes -- the double, triple and quadruple ones! Vote early, vote often and remember, boys and girls, even dead people can vote in certain places.

Personally I think Simon and McClintock should get a clue and back Arnold who can win. Neither of those two stand a chance to get elected! And you come to that conclusion by??????....

And then there is Dick Riordan who backed Feinswine, Boxer, Davis, and even Klintler.

An interesting Bio.
Raised in poverty by strict, yet loving, parents, Schwarzenegger was barely into his teens when he pinned his hopes on bodybuilding as his ticket to the top. Self-discipline and tireless training paid off in spades when he was crowned Mr. Universe at the age of twenty, becoming the youngest man ever to win the title.
Just one year later, he was making movies, and not too long after that, he was making millions buying and selling real estate. His net worth is now over 250 million dollars. All of these milestones were followed by U.S. citizenship; a special appointment as a presidential advisor; and mind-boggling success as an actor with a stunning string of top-grossing blockbusters to his credit.
Born the second child of a police chief in Graz, Austria, young Arnold was raised in conditions the youth of today don't even hear about from their grandparents anymore: he was fourteen before the Schwarzeneggers could finally afford to furnish their home with such amenities as indoor plumbing, a refrigerator, and a telephone.
His chores began at 6:00 a.m. every day, and when those were done, Arnold and his brother were then required to perform fifteen minutes of squats and sit-ups before they were served breakfast. The boys were free to spend Sunday nights roaming about the town, which boasted a movie theater, among other amusements, but each was required to compose a ten-page essay about the evening's activities upon returning home.
It was when he began lifting weights to train for the local soccer team that Schwarzenegger first sensed that he was destined for greatness. "When I was fifteen," he recalls, "I had a clear vision of myself being onstage winning the Mr. Universe contest." He pursued this goal so assiduously that he joined the Austrian army at the age of eighteen for the sole purpose of supplementing his training diet with fresh meat.
One month after enlisting, he went AWOL to compete in the Mr. Junior Europe contest, a stunt which earned him not only the first of his many bodybuilding titles, but also a year in the brig. Doing time didn't slow him down a bit, and the following year, after leaving the army, Schwarzenegger collected the titles of Mr. Europe and Best-Built Man of Europe, and also won the International Powerlifting Championship.
In 1968, he came to the United States to defend the Mr. Universe title he'd won the previous year, and was rudely welcomed with a second-place finish--perhaps the only setback of his entire bodybuilding career. But thereafter, he dominated the sport so thoroughly--he won four more Mr. Universe titles and six consecutive Mr. Olympia titles--that he retired after seven years because he felt he "wasn't giving others a chance to win."

Great story!
I just hope it's true.
To: demlosers
That is good news. I don't know why anyone would dodge the issue. If he comes out against illegal immigration and has a plan to cut social services to them he will win by a landslide, even with all of the name calling. It is one of the most important issues in the state.
I'm so sick of seeing Davis. He looks like a undertaker in a Clint Eastwood western.
