....to deny (gays) their constitutional and civil rights simply because you don't like their religious beliefs or practices is to render the First Amendment's guarantees of religious liberty meaningless..... Hypocrite. Pro-lifers are continually denied religious liberty guarantees b/c liberal abortion woshippers despise various church teachings against abortion.

God bless the Pope and God bless the Catholic faithful.
The biggest faithful warrior against murdering babies and homos horning into what we call marriage.
I am NOT Catholic.
The loudmouths so sure the Pope is the anti-christ, should apologize and repent when they witness the brave and solitary heroicly shouted, "No!" by the one they have vilified as the anti-christ.

In fact, our present pastor and the previous pastor are both out lesbians who married in the church. Our church was founded in 1855 and is not a "gay church." IMO maybe this isn't a gay church, but the difference is slight.
The difference should be like light and dark.

Read Eze 3:19 and see the warning for the one who doesn't call evil what it is!
To: Taiwan Bocks
In the NAB it is 3:18 thus:
18 If I say to the wicked man, You shall surely die; and you do not warn him or speak out to dissuade him from his wicked conduct so that he may live: that wicked man shall die for his sin, but I will hold you responsible for his death.

I don't think they get it.
The definition of marriage is "a man and a woman uniting." That's impossible if both of them are the same sex.
Why is there a special word for when a man and a woman unite? Because it's a special, distinct act with a separate, distinct procreative and relational potential.
It is dissimilar from any other union.

God bless the Pope and God bless the Catholic faithful.Unfortunately, anyone who has bashed the Pope or the Church for the last how-many years has instantly enjoyed the support of roughly 1/4 of American "Christians."
In fact, our present pastor and the previous pastor are both out lesbians who married in the church. Our church was founded in 1855 and is not a "gay church."
Ummmm.... Yeah... it is.

"there is only room for diversity when diverse ideas are politically correct."This is Leftist/"Liberal"/Democrat dogma. They preach "diversity", but in Orwellian paradox they demand conformity.
Similarly, "Liberals" preach freedom but demand oppression, preach "justice" but demand injustice, preach "tolerance" but demand intolerance, preach "liberation" but demand exploitation. Anyone who doesn't see this is a fool.

It seems to me that the last few years have shown what severe violence priests can bring to children. This sentance kind of proves the pope's point. These 'priests' were gays first and priest for the opportunity.

I am not Catholic but very proud of this Pope. He is one of the few Religious leaders with the guts to call the homosexual agenda the ABOMINATION it truly is.....
God calls that that, too, in the Bible.

So true. In this diverse culture that we live in, liberals should be in hog heaven. But diversity is not what they are about. They are about division. Divide and conquer. Creating divisiveness. Using the coalitions of divisive, anti-individual gangs, as THEIR vehicle on the road to POWER.

This very same Pope demanded Bush not topple Saddam as well. He said it would be immoral if the UN didn't authorize it. As if the UN authorizing something suddenly made it moral
The UN has no moral authority on anything. I found the Pope to be a great disappointment on this front.

"Even though I disagree, I have no problem with the pope expressing his view that gay marriage is wrong. He is certainly entitled to his opinion. What I do have a problem with is his ridiculous statement that gays bring violence to children.
It seems to me that the last few years have shown what severe violence priests can bring to children. Sexual abuse, ignoring claims of abuse and hiding pedophile priests are heinous. The church needs to stop scapegoating homosexuality and focus on healing its parishes. "
This letter is really strange. The pope did express that gay marriage was wrong, however, the pope didn't stop with gay marriage. Homosexuality is wrong. Given what we do know about the severe violence priests can bring to children, unlike the author, the pope is consistent. Homosexuals within the church are the prime child molesting priests for both boys and girls.
It's time to track down the history of homosexual efforts to infiltrate the churches, Catholic, Episcopal, Methodist...let's get to work.

Members of the truculent gay cult -- who proselytize using New Wave
revisionist religious thinking -- are very, disturbed and troubled individuals.
The gay cult reminds me of the benignly smiling, happy-together, death-dealing Heaven's Gate cult (who committed mass suicide) who also used New Wave religion for their deadly purposes.
The gay cult is a vey dangerous group. They are ruthless but at the same time pose as "victims" -- the usual lib con game. That's why I deem it critical to label them a "cult" and to emphasize the New Wave religious con they are perpetrating. We need to make this a wedge issue so as to convincingly label Dummycrats as anti-religion fanatics.
Bush needs to come up with a package of wedge issues and hand it to the Dims gift-wrapped. A good wedge issue is the Dims anti-religionism.
The religious vote is so important that even the evil Clintons had to resort to carrying Bibles and going to church on Sunday even though it must have nearly killed them.
The Dims sub-rosa anti-religionism has been brought into sharp relief by the homo marriage issue. Most people oppose homo marriage and nearly all the Dim prez candidates were forced to come out against it even though they genuflect at the altar of the homo agenda. By sticking to the anti-homo marriage message, Bush will put the Dims anti-religionism under a glaring spotlight.

Nicely done. This issue alone could swing the next election. Americans across the board are fleeing the party of suck-ups (RATs), pun intended as to the homosexual issue, and going FOR the party that stands for AMERICA, front and center and loud and proud. ALL THE POLLS SHOW IT.

The church needs to stop scapegoating homosexuality and focus on healing its parishes. Hello!!! The violence was caused by HOMO_SEXUAL priests preying on little boys. The pope is trying to clean this mess up, but it didn't happen overnight. Weeding out the practicing homosexual priests WILL in fact clean up and heal the parishes.

Quote of the Day nominee: "Liberals" preach freedom but demand oppression, preach "justice" but demand injustice, preach "tolerance" but demand intolerance, preach "liberation" but demand exploitation. Anyone who doesn't see this is a fool. I second the nomination. Bob can spot a great quote in a nanosecond.
Americans must also come to terms with the many freedoms we have lost since the ACLU and lib groups started "protecting" our freedoms. (That's a whole separate thread with about 1000 posts). Libs have proved they are the arch-enemies of freedom.
