ANNOTATION: Hillary Rodham Clinton is known to hundreds of millions of people around the world. Yet few beyond her close friends and family have ever heard her account of her extraordinary journey. She writes with candor, humor and passion about her upbringing in suburban, middle-class America in the 1950s and her transformation from Goldwater Girl to student activist to controversial First Lady.
Living History is her revealing memoir of life through the White House years. It is also her chronicle of living history with Bill Clinton, a thirty-year adventure in love and politics that survives personal betrayal, relentless partisan investigations and constant public scrutiny.
Hillary Rodham Clinton came of age during a time of tumultuous social and political change in America. Like many women of her generation, she grew up with choices and opportunities unknown to her mother or grandmother. She charted her own course through unexplored terrainresponding to the changing times and her own internal compassand became an emblem for some and a lightning rod for others.
Wife, mother, lawyer, advocate and international icon, she has lived through Americas great political wars, from Watergate to Whitewater.
The only First Lady to play a major role in shaping domestic legislation, Hillary Rodham Clinton traveled tirelessly around the country to champion health care, expand economic and educational opportunity and promote the needs of children and families, and she crisscrossed the globe on behalf of womens rights, human rights and democracy. She redefined the position of First Lady and helped save the presidency from an unconstitutional, politically motivated impeachment.
Intimate, powerful and inspiring, Living History captures the essence of one of the most remarkable women of our time and the challenging process by which she came to define herself and find her own voiceas a woman and as a formidable figure in American politics.

Keep Toto away as Hillary ("I'll get you my pretty and your little dog, too") is coming to Kansas. OK, would you believe Kansas City, Missouri?
I apologize for not having a barf alert for the above from the Rainy Day Books' website.
Hoping that some of our fine KC area FReepers will take the ball and run with it. Organize a peaceful protest of the former Wicked Witch of the West Wing.
Having protested Hillary 4 times in the last two months here in the DC area, I can attest that FReeping Hillary is an exhilarating and memorable experience. Don't miss the opportunity.
If you need help, just ask.
Generally speaking, you can only protest on public property from the curb in a few feet. You can't block the sidewalk.
In most cities, a permit is only required if you have more than a certain number of people (I think that it is 25 in DC). Call the police station and talk to their desk officer about a lawful protest. Find out what the rules are (usually straightforward) and follow them.
FReep Hillary! You'll be glad that you did!

I was hoping to get to come meet some of the Kansas freepers up in the KC area and take the 3.5 hour drive to do so. Unfortunately, though I rarely have much of a social life...lol...of course, I received word that a college friend is having an engagement party in Wichita Tuesday evening. I hope you all have a great time freeping Hillary! Somebody take some pictures!

Since this is "just a book signing" and not part of "a run for president" (wink, wink, nudge, nudge) it seems Hill thinks appearing at a church is ok.
After going to
http://www.unitytemple.com/unity.html it is easy to see why she would be there.
One of the links goes to a letter from a co-pastor, Rev. Duke Tufty, to the Cornerstone Foundation:
"The last couple of years have been most difficult for our country and for each of us individually. Incredible changes have taken place that we couldn't have imagined; the recession has reduced the disposable income for everybody from senior citizens to "Generation X"; companies downsizing or going out of business have drastically increased the number of unemployed, and others have lost a great deal of their security in the stock market. In addition, international relations have become strained, creating an uneasiness for all of us. The most difficult part of it all is not knowing what is going to happen next."
Sounds pretty left wing to me.
If some other KC FReepers will be there I'll do my best to be there too, health permitting. Come on KC, we can do this.
