I'm sure Dr. Laura could use some prayer.

One needs not advocate any religion or church to be a believer and student of God.

... ''I still see myself as a Jew. But the spiritual journey in that direction as hard-core as I was at it just didn't fulfill something in me that I needed.'' Well, I guess we can strike religion and nekked pictures off the list.

I still listen to Dr. Laura almost daily, and enjoy her show. I think she has been able to help a lot of people. I admire the way she is able to "cut to the quick" and help people see things that they haven't recognized before.

In my opinion (not worth much), but I like Dr. Laura very much. I also believe she is being summoned by the Holy Spirit.
Come to Christ Laura...............He understands.

Let me add that I also have heard Dr. Laura speak well of men who attempt to be "Christ-like" in their lives. If you listen to her, you know she is not especailly quick with praise or compliments.
She genuinely admires true Christian men.

I was putting out a tremendous amount toward that mission, that end, and not feeling return I'm a lukewarm guy, liable to be spat out myself...but I find the "not feeling return" thing odd. Seems to me your faith should be, well, a matter of faith- not a matter of investment/return.
Limited understanding/conviction I have is: There is a God that created me, and expects me to do right. I will be called to account one day, and will have to depend solely upon his mercy- and that mercy is not dispensed according to good deeds/bad deeds, but my faith in that mercy.
Not a theologian, and not interested in argument- I'll find out whether I'm right or wrong in the end.
For now, I'll take it on faith.

Prayers for guidance and wisdom for Dr. Laura are on their way.

For her to put it all out on the table like that, is commendable. I catch her show occasionally, and don't find much wrong with her "tough love". The main thing I heard her say once that I disagreed with, she smirked at the idea of the "age of accountability" concerning baptism, that many Christians profess. I disagreed with her, because I don't think you are "saved" because someone poured water on your head when you are a few months old, when you're not even aware of what's going on. I personally believe in an age of accountability, and don't think it arrives at age x for every individual. I know some will disagree with this, and for those who do, I'm not going to descend into a flame war with you. So, nyah. :)

People try to put limits on an Almighty God. Anyone that doesn't have a heart that's already hardened beyond sincerely asking: "God if you're real, show me!" can find out what the truth is.

Thanks for the flag. I agree that with some of the posters that Dr. Laura is, and has been for a long time, unlistenable. I turned her off when I heard nauseatingly quick answers, without first really listening to the problem, which were rooted in ego.
But no one's perfect, and she is on a journey. Crisis = danger + opportunity; she's in one, yet you can see the Holy Spirit knocking at the door of her heart. Just as Gideon had to break the pitchers which contained torches,in order to let the light out, it is necessary that the power of the legalism be brought to naught in each of our lives, in order that the power of Spirit can be released.
2Cor 3.6 who also made us adequate as servants of a new covenant, not of the letter, but of the Spirit; for the letter kills, but the Spirit gives life.
7 But if the ministry of death, in letters engraved on stones, came with glory, so that the sons of Israel could not look intently at the face of Moses because of the glory of his face, fading as it was,
8 how shall the ministry of the Spirit fail to be even more with glory?
9 For if the ministry of condemnation has glory, much more does the ministry of righteousness abound in glory.10 For indeed what had glory, in this case has no glory on account of the glory that surpasses it.
11 For if that which fades away was with glory, much more that which remains is in glory.
12 Having therefore such a hope, we use great boldness in our speech,
13 and are not as Moses, who used to put a veil over his face that the sons of Israel might not look intently at the end of what was fading away.
14 But their minds were hardened; for until this very day at the reading of the old covenant the same veil remains unlifted, because it is removed in Christ.
15 But to this day whenever Moses is read, a veil lies over their heart;
16 but whenever a man turns to the Lord, the veil is taken away.
17 Now the Lord is the Spirit; and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.
18 But we all, with unveiled face beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as from the Lord, the Spirit.
