"He's torn up furniture," she said. "He'll cry and whine constantly he has the loudest meow I've ever heard. He'll get underfoot and rub up against me. He tries to open the door where his food is. He'll even eat my dog's food if there's no cat food in his bowl."Who says pets aren't people?

Here's another deep pocket target for trial lawyers ... pet food companies and the owners of these over weight pets.

My family rented a house in Solvang one Thanksgiving. A cat came to the door to beg for scraps, which we gave him. We returned the next year to find the same cat, now as big as a horse, still begging. Kitty had learned to exploit the sympathy of the tourists.

And this, of course, is the fault of McDonald's, Burger King, Wendy's, Jack-in-the-Box, Supersizing Combo Meals, right? Processed foods, trans fat...
Isn't that what the health nazis are blaming for our girth - so it stands to reason the overweight kitties are eating the same stuff.
Oh, that's right. The health nazis are only interested in somebody to sue. Carry on.

And the pet food company IAMS has added a nutrient to its weight-control dry food that quickens metabolism and helps the furry family members maintain muscle mass.I switched my biggest girl (a 16 lb. two year old) over to this IAM's weight management food. It was hard, because this is apparently not as tasty as Science Diet, which she loves.
But, after four months, Juliette's down to 12 pounds, and is much less lethargic.
So, either this stuff works, or the taste is so awful that she just eats less of it.

Just saw a National Geophraphic TV docu on the cheetahs, lions, lynxs, and other wild cats sprinting at 100mph to capture their preys
What a contrast to our domesticated felines
Seems like too much of a good thing is BAD....too much of a good life, too much of CIVILIZATION.......

. Carey suggests cat owners take their pets on leash walks.. Typical Cornell study. I tried to get Fatso into a harness and leash. Try juggling chainsaws, it's less messy on the rug.

Ah jeez...my big boy Elvis is on the Iams diet food, and it seems to be working. The rub comes in when I try to keep Stimpy and Priscilla at their present weight, and am trying to fatten up my skinny lil' youngun Lisa Marie. Mealtime is such a joy at my house....
