dem,
Sorry, but I am right. Technically, an Academy cadet or midshipman outranks the Sergeant Major of the Army, Chief Master Sergeant of the Air Force, etc.
They are not saluted by enlisted personnel while on the grounds of the Academies as a matter of policy, but they do actually rate a salute and are supposed to be addressed as sir/ma'am. When cadets are at a post/base in large numbers, usually a blanket non-saluting policy is put in place, but I am right on this. If you want to see for yourself, look at Title 10 of US Code.

Re-read please. It said she was capable, not incapable.

So much for being guilty just because a woman said so.

Agreed, but this isn't the military anymore. It's a co-ed social program. Sex is part of the equation.

GW,
Please allow me to respond without saying I am bashing you or you comments. I understand full well how you arrived at your questions.
That's what I don't get in these cases. Why can't they just date civilians? Why hit on other military?
Many of them do. Their used to be an expression among 2nd Lts who were married right out of the Academy: Colorodo Springs Brides. The women in Colorado are beautiful, smart, and charming. Many cadets date them. But----human beings cloistered together at the AF Academy in tight bunches tend to associate closely with one another. There is another expression there: Falcon Luv. It is based on the school mascot and a tongue in cheek reference to the romances that occur at the Academy. Do a search on Google about where many spouses and lovers meet their mates:
Many, many say they meet them at their places of employment and/or school. The AF Academy is no different.
Have there been rapes there? I just don't know, but I suspect there have been some, of course. You would be a fool not to believe otherwise. Have they been as numerous as the accusations, and as the NOW gang says? I doubt it.
But I do know this: many of the female cadets who have accused others had a HUGE ax to grind--because they were lousy cadets and were kicked out.
What is being done to the institution is harmful--and everyone knows it---and most are afraid to say anything.

many of the female cadets who have accused others had a HUGE ax to grind--because they were lousy cadets and were kicked out.Bingo, the perception that trying harder can somehow overcome the riggers of training, is a myth. Physical endurance is an acquired attribute but cannot overcome sheer body size, and natural strength.
More than a majority of men cannot measure up to the physical requirements of the Academy, how would we expect the normal woman to do so. It's a given, and I've witnessed it that there are the occasional woman that could master these tasks, and even far excelled, but if my memory served me well, ..those are not, in most part, the women that are the object of the affection of the average red blooded male cadet...if you get my drift....drifting on

Warrant officers hold warrants from their service secretary and are specialists and experts in certain military technologies or capabilities. The lowest ranking warrant officers serve under a warrant, but they receive commissions from the president upon promotion to chief warrant officer 2. These commissioned warrant officers are direct representatives of the president of the United States. They derive their authority from the same source as commissioned officers but remain specialists, in contrast to commissioned officers, who are generalists.
CW2 and up are commissioned. Cadets are not.
Im curious now. Ill check Title 10.

The way the military works, his career is now toast and he will resign at the earliest possible moment. If only he had buggered a male cadet. He'd get to become an Episcopal bishop and have a book deal with TV movie pending.

She was junior (in a lower class). That is why the Academies all have rules against fratenization, it is simply abusive to allow upperclassmen to use their position to obtain sex from female cadets or midshipmen.

it is simply abusive to allow upperclassmen to use their position to obtain sex from female cadets or midshipmen Or for female cadets to sell sex in exchange for favorable treatment or advancement

From the USNA site:
All Naval Academy students, men and women, are called midshipmen, which is a rank between chief warrant officer and ensign in the Navy.
Interesting. I'm still not convinced, though.
