I thought I would tell a very interesting story that helps prove that liberals are endlessy clueless and endlessly downtrodden and depressed.
I work for a certain grocery chain. Yesterday we had a store meeting which was called. We watched an hour's worth of Ed Foreman. Ed is a motivational speaker. Here are his credentials. Read them then I'll go on with the story.
FOREMAN, Edgar Franklin, a Representative from Texas and New Mexico;
Born in Portales, Roosevelt County, N.Mex., December 22, 1933;
Attended the public schools of Portales and Eastern New Mexico University at Portales, 1952-1953;
B.S., New Mexico State University, 1955; served in the United States Navy, 1956-1957, and also in the United States Naval Reserve and United States Air Force Reserve;
President of Valley Transit Mix, Atlas Land Co., and Foreman Oil, Inc.; resident of Odessa, Tex.; delegate, Republican National Conventions, 1964 and 1968; elected as a Republican from Texas to the Eighty-eighth Congress (January 3, 1963-January 3, 1965);
Unsuccessful candidate for reelection in 1964 to the Eighty-ninth Congress; moved to Las Cruces, N.Mex.; elected to the Ninety-first Congress from New Mexico (January 3, 1969-January 3, 1971);
Unsuccessful candidate for reelection in 1970 to the Ninety-second Congress; assistant secretary, United States Department of Interior, 1971;
Assistant secretary, United States Department of Transportation, 1972-1976; president of an executive training company; is a resident of Dallas, Tex.
He served under 2 Presidents. I haven't found out which two they were yet. Possibly Reagan and another.
As we gathered in the meeting room before the video started I began to mingle with the other workers. One lady who is from England and a hopeless liberal began to ask some of the other employees about this "election thing" we were having.
"When is this next 'election thing' you Americans insist on having? I mean when is the big one. I hear about these candidates. When is the next election?"
An employee answered her. We began discussing politics a little and Bob said "How can you be a Republican? Your too young, and you ain't go no money"
I just laughed and ignored it. Bob doesn't understand enough about the world to be convinced of anything. Anyways the video plays and Ed Foreman is great! They passed out pins that say "Life is Terrific"
Ed gives the menu for having a Terrific day. He talks about motivation. He says that if you aren't doing well its nobody's fault but your own. Ed talked about prayer, depression, happiness, food, etc.
I was really into this. I didn't even know Ed's political slant at this point but I knew what he was saying was the truth.
About halfway through the English woman elbows me and says "I wish they would get me a pin that says life is terrible"
After the movie was over the host of the meeting asked if there were any questions. The English woman spoke up.
"He talked about depression. If you are depressed you need medication. You can't just wish it away."
The host replied that she didn't think Ed was talking about clinical depression. I whispered to my Conservative friend sitting next to me that the last 9 out of 10 school shooters were on anti-depressants.
Needless to say. I think that showing us this video was an excellent thing to do. Ed is a great speaker and he makes a lot of sense when he talks. Ed says that if you want to be successful be successful. If you want to be a loser, be a loser. Its your choice.
Ed also said that laughter is the best medicine. He said it relieves gas. Ed said that all the water in the world can't sink a ship unless it gets inside of it. All the negativity in the world can't sink a person unless that negativity gets inside that person.
Assistant secretary, United States Department of Transportation, 1972-1976 . . .
He served under 2 Presidents. I haven't found out which two they were yet. Possibly Reagan and another."
Looks like Nixon and Ford if you read the article.
And the last 10 out of 10 school shooters used guns. What's your point?
You really have to take into account that crazy depressed kids are more likely to be the ones shooting up a school, and crazy depressed kids are more likely to be taking anti-depressants.
