LAKE FOREST PARK -- Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton swept through a bookstore here yesterday afternoon, signed close to 2,000 copies of her best-selling memoir, "Living History," in two hours and left behind a dazed crowd of admirers and a dozen Hillary haters. Third Place Books had issued 1,200 passes to customers beforehand. Audrey Nilles, who began planning for the event in May when she learned of Clinton's visit, took the day off work -- along with many others -- and arrived at 8 a.m. with a bundle of books under her arm. The line started moving after 11 a.m., and by 12:45 p.m., she and a couple of friends were walking to the car.
"I said, 'Hello' and 'Thank you very much for everything,' " Nilles said of her encounter with the Democratic senator from New York. "There wasn't much time for anything else. She gave everyone this warm smile. Hopefully, she's our first woman president."
Clinton started the day at the Golden Tennis Shoe Awards, a fund-raiser for Sen. Patty Murray, D-Wash., at the Westin Hotel in downtown Seattle. Kirsten Brost, communications director for Washington State Democrats, said 1,500 people paid between $100 and $150 to attend. An additional 200 who landed on a waiting list watched the award presentation and Clinton's speech on a television in a separate room.
Clinton's next stop: Lake Forest Park Towne Centre. The line started at a table inside the bookstore shielded by police officers, Secret Service agents and stacks of books and wound through metal detectors and out the front doors. It stretched past the Honey Bear Bakery, which was offering commemorative sugar cookies and T-shirts, and curled around Hollywood Video on the corner.
A dozen protesters stood at the intersection, waving signs, screaming at passing cars and heckling those waiting in line. One elderly woman held a sign that read, "Watch for low-flying brooms."
"I sold my soul to Hillary," read another, carried by a man wearing a devil's mask.

The bookstore's employees had set up an assembly line for Clinton to greet 1,200 admirers in 120 minutes. Her admirers marveled at how well her signature held up despite the pace.
Walking to her car, Amy Alpine flipped open her copy and admired the distinct script and clear capitals ending in an abridged last name: Hillary R Cl ... .
There was no chance to chat, just enough time for a smile and a thank you.
The exception was Bruce Melin, who wore a button from Barry Goldwater's 1964 presidential campaign. Melin finished "Living History" Tuesday night and discovered that Clinton had made the conversion from Goldwater Republican to Democrat in the 1960s, just as Melin did.
Clinton spotted the button and laughed. "You changed," she said. "I did, too."

I see she packed ole' crusty after all.
She really is an attractive woman it is IMO that she isn't photogenic.
I saw her in Portland. She just does not look the same up close and when the camera captures her.
When they say the camera adds 10 pounds I would say it is closer to 30 pounds.

I wanted to thank you for keeping all the threads on the booksignings organize and bumped.
We are finally settled back down and tired. King Vanity and I slept most of the day.
The gas tank is repaired and he is ready to go go again tommarrow.
Thanks again for taking the time to help.

The bug eye associated with thyroid would be Graves disease or hyper thyroid. If she had Graves as did the Bush Family it could be a long term condition. I know I was late stage and to reduce the bug eye it is sugery to remve the fatty tissue that grows behind the eyes. In most cases if caught early the fatty tissue will dissolve and the "buggy " look will go away.
I saw her Tues. in Portland and it is my opinion that she is attravtive but not photgenic at all.

All this book signing in unprecedented. And also, isn't Hillary supposed to be employed as a US Senator? If so, then why is she treating these book signings as if she is on the campaign trail? Who is the she kidding. She ain't workin, or sellin books, she's on the dang campaign trail, it's that simple.

Very good question that you asked about how does Hillary have time to do her job when she is always promoting her book. Also, in response to your quesiton if she will write a book when President? The answer is "no" because she will be too busy signing the death warrent to this great country, there will be nothing left living when she gets through with us.

Too bad the media is too timid to ask it, as are her NY constituents.
Fools.

Graves disease. Barbara had that. I guess the easy explanation is that Hillary is possesed-it would account for the bug eyes :)

What a bunch of BS - no one was screaming at passing cars, nor was anyone heckling anyone in line - we were not allowed to be anywhere near the line.No doubt the reporter is a major Hillary! suck-up. As if, in the first paragraph of this article, the Hillary! admirers were "dazed". Dazed about what? That they just saw their god? What were they, like Moses receiving the Ten Commandments? LOL. I suspect they are dazed 24/7.

When they say the camera adds 10 pounds I would say it is closer to 30 pounds.Yeah, well she's still the Devil. :)
But you're right, the camera makes people look fatter, especially women. I guess that's why so many of the Hollywood starlets look anorexic.
I've watched golf on TV for years, and always thought Nancy Lopez was a big, fat girl. Then I went to an LPGA tournament, and saw her warming up on the putting green. Couldn't believe how tiny she is in person. Not much over 5', not skinny, but not fat at all. The camera does lie.

I took some foot age of a reporter when I was in Portland and them saw her for the first time on the news and she looked huge.
In person she was very nice looking.
Some of us look really bad on camera no matte what facial expression we have.
Then some can do no wrong in front of the lens.
I have been editing for my little pictorial web sites and so I understand a little.
Hillary's photo guy should use video to capture her best facial gestures.
If he worked for me and printed the pics that he does of her silly expressions I think I would hire someone else.

King Vanity's comment at the end of the day was she is still a crook no matter how nice she was to me.Both Clintons are masters at sucking people in with their charm. Beware the Serpents. Filegate, Travelgate, Monicagate, Whitewatergate, Fostergate, Chinagate, all the other -gates, impeachment, disbarment with $400,000 fine, making $ millions in speaking fees while asking for relief of fines, Hillary's vote yes for partial-birth abortion, and 100 other things. Separate the charm from the evil. King Vanity is right. They are evil and corrupt to the core.
