Maybe he'll announce candidacy for an Episcopalian Bishopship.

In the scenario of your #1 and #2, Cruz couldn't keep the job unless he was the winner of ballot #2 question, right? And if he wasn't, what's the law say then -- new governor appoints a new lt. gov? Because Cruz would have resigned. Or would Cruz appoint a new lt. gov at that time?

my head's starting to spin.

I was about 13 when "Terminator" came out, so I thought it terrifically witty to repeat the line ...

It is one of the immutable truths of life that whatever you thought was funny when you were 13 was not really funny at all.

Not according to the law as I understand it. The recall process would still go forward.

Maybe he'll announce the new driver-license-for-illegals legislation.

As I understand the law, if Davis resigns and Bustamante takes over 'til Oct. 7, he has the right to fill the Lt. Gov. spot ... but yes, Bustamante himself will not be able to go BACK to that lower office after the recall vote. And whomever he picks to fill the Lt. Gov. spot will serve out the rest of the term, through the end of '06!

"The fact that Arnold made it big as an immigrant is the ONLY thing that he has going for him, and it doesn't even fill up a thimbleful of warm spit."

He has been very successful in three career fields:

1. World Champion Body Builder,
2. Real Estate Investor/manager
3. Acting/movies

He also earned a college degree in Business.

Coming to America in 1968 with $20, he has built an estimated personal net worth of $300 million.

He has done civic and volunteer work. His new career adventure into politics begins at age 56.

Much much more than warm spit.

I just hope he isn't going to pull a Bud Dwyer on us. I have to say, the Arnold campaign isn't just a campaign, it's a freaking force of nature.

That would make it a VERY risky proposition for both Gray-Out and Bustamante; they could both very easily be out of a job by October 8.
