[history]
The NAACP claims to be a champion of diversity, but its tolerance apparently doesn't extend to its own members who think for themselves. Attorney Leo Terrell learned that recently when he spoke out in support of Carolyn Kuhl, one of President Bush's beleaguered nominees for the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals. The head of the NAACP's Washington office called and ordered him to cease and desist, so yesterday Mr. Terrell resigned from the "civil-rights" group rather than be muzzled.

Good for Mr. Terrell - finally someone from the black community has the guts to speak out against the anti-American NAACP.

And if the NAACP opposes her?

Leo Terrell resigning from the NAACP is a HUGE news!
Although, obnoxious at times, Mr. Terrell has always been a vociferous civil rights advocate and I admit, I am shocked by his level-headed evaluation of Carolyn Kuhl, and I'm thrilled to learn he's parted company with the NAACP, which speaks volumes to their group-think obtuseness.

I am shocked by his level-headed evaluation of Carolyn Kuhl. That is as shocking as his resignation from NAACP.

Is Leo Terrel the one who calls in to Hannity's radio show from time to time?
To: TroutStalker
Mr. Terrell repeated those points to us yesterday, adding that the NAACP is buying in to "phony allegations that she is hostile to civil rights."The NAACP isn't buying into anything; they know that they're lying.
Looks like Terrell is in a position to have his eyes opened. Let's hope it takes.

If Leo Terrell supports her I want nothing to do with her.So you do not believe that some on the left can have the liberal veil lifted from their eyes?
So much for having an open mind.

So much for having an open mind. You are correct and after the last B>REPUBLICAN/CONSERVATIVE disaster picks on the supreme court, I'm proud to be closed to Leo's Rants.
This man is a professional poverty pimp and to think for one moment he has found religion and convereted to a more up lifting message is foolish.
If he supports this women it only means "HE KNOWS" she will join the ranks of the other Republican disasters.
In fact, it very well may be this type of mind set that prevents the republicans from seeing the forest through the trees.

I think you forgot your /tinfoilhat tag at the end. He's made a good start by cutting ties with the NAACP. Can't you give him a chance to see if his eyes are opening? I missed any reference to him finding religion but I for one am willing to wait and see if the liberal viel over his eyes is beginning to lift.

I don't live in a make believe world. I don't beg for conversion. <(NOT RELIGION) "got it".I remember everything a person says in the past.
I do listen to what you say but, I watch what you do.
I will do the same for Leo! When "you" are satisfied with his future performance be sure you let me know and remind me of my errant ways. I will be more than glad to admit to my lack of conservative wisdom. will you?
I'll repeat.
Remember all the supreme court picks of the so called republican/conservatives on the supreme court. They have done more damage to this country than all the liberals combined.
The same mind set your suggesting now applied then.
Lets keep a close watch on Leo.
I'm not a blind conservative and the skeletons in ones closet do not go away just because you closed the door this morning and told your neighbor you now a new person.

All I am suggesting is that he may have potential. I will keep an open eye to see if he progresses in the right direction. If not, I have no problem lumping him right back in with the rest that seem to run in the wrong direction.

I just found this article and really want to believe Leo is approaching rational thought. Definitely worth a bump.

Leo Terrell was on Hannity & Colmes discussing this...last night, I think.
I've been watching this guy since the OJ trial, always infuriated by his willingness to lie, and angrily spew out the most outrageous allegations against white America. So I wonder...what's his angle this time? Does he want to get hired as a FOXNews analyst? Is he looking to get his own show?
(And by the way....if I'm right that Leo Terrell (or some other angry black liberal will join Juan Williams on FOXNews), it's fine with me. I believe FOXNews is fair and balanced, so adding this voice, with able and equally verbose responders, would be a good thing.)
Remember how just a few months ago, Susan Estrich cleaned up her schtick and became an honest broker of information from the left point of view, then shortly after, she became an official FOXNews political analyst? Well, FOXNews has just signed an agreement with (I think the black caucus, might have been the NAACP), to host a presidential debate between the democrat candidates, so it wouldn't surprise me if FOX felt the need to hire black commentators
