One of the posters at "The Corner" at National Review Online nailed this today.

He said it was how Arnold negotiates all of his movies. Acts not interested, hems and haws, closes the deal then commits to the project 120%.

I'm hoping he really, really has the commitment part going on this.

Good news, the Clintons and the Dems won't be able to turn the media attention in this race towards Bush bashing on the economy, the focus on Arnold will be total (win or lose).

Interesting. The FoxNews reporter on the election reported earlier today that Swartn's people had issued a media release stating Arnold would not run but would support Riordan(?). Somebody got wires crossed.

Hmm, I was pretty sure he wouldn't run. I thought his buddy Riordan was gearing up.

Arnold Schwarzenegger announces gubernatorial bid in California's recall election

ERICA WERNER, Associated Press Writer Wednesday, August 6, 2003

(08-06) 17:09 PDT LOS ANGELES (AP) --

Arnold Schwarzenegger ended the suspense Wednesday and said he would run in California's recall election, awarding Republicans his marquee value in their campaign to oust Gov. Gray Davis. Democratic Sen. Dianne Feinstein ruled out a run, labeling the election "more and more like a carnival every day."

Schwarzenegger's announcement came as a surprise; advisers had said in recent days that was leaning against running in the Oct. 7 election.

If Arnold runs on the "Club For Growth" platform, I can consider voting for him even if I don't agree with the rest of his philosophy.

Good point. Puny Joe Davis vs. Arnold. I like it. :)
