[history]
A democracy cannot exist as a permanent form of government. It can only exist until the voters discover that they can vote themselves largess from the public treasury.

You're right on that one! What an ill-concieved rant, makes some of mine look good by comparison. LOL!
Plus at least 3/4 of the stuff he lists was around long before the Boomers took over. But how would he know? :O)
One thing that a lot of people forget, IMO, is that the voters of the so-called "Greatest Generation" and their parents have consistantly voted Rat since 1932.
It's Liberal vs Conservative, age or generation makes no matter.

I'm glad X'rs are getting mad, it's up to you guys to stop the madness of big government. I was born in 1957, the SS system will be broke by the time I retire as my age group is the last of the boomers. Social Security sends me a statement every year telling me how much my SS benefit will be when I retire, I will get full benefits if I retire at ((( 70 ))). 65 is no longer the age at which you get full benefits for my age group, it's 70 !

I'm glad X'rs are getting mad, it's up to you guys to stop the madness of big government. Unfortunately, its going to get much much worse before it gets better. Assuming it ever gets better. Once great powers fall, they rarely get up again. Look at Egypt, Rome, Britian, India, etc.
Rome didn't burn in a day.

I went to Rutgers U in NJ in 1987 and thats when I realized how communists and liberals had propagandized colleges.
**Amer hist II- 1 week on all topics, 12 weeks on bashing mccarthy and lionizing socialists
**PoliSci- 1 week on machiavelli, 12 weeks on the rise and glory of communism
**Creative Writing- 1 week grammar, 12 weeks PC indoctrination
That was enough for me.

Back at you. Get YOUR facts straight.
Firstly, The current Social Security Tax is all in, 15% not 7.5%; wake up and smell the burn, you only get to see one half the contribution go past your paycheck. Secondly, I have been paying the maximum on Social Security for well over 25 years (sorry, some of us earn a little more than others). Thirdly, if I could put away an additional 15% of my Gross earnings pre-tax into a money market fund even averaging 6-7% over the next 25-30 years that I intend to work, no I would not need a penny of Social Security, Medicare etc.
Got the facts now?

Bill Gates, born on Oct. 28, 1955, is a Boomer and so were most of his original crew. Same goes for the Apple crowd. We are talking about the internet which if anything it can be argued that Bill Gates has stifled innovation
Computers and the internet have been around since the 60's and 70's but it wasn't until the X'ers got a hold of them that their full potential was used and brought into the mainstream (i.e. Yahoo, Ebay and Amazon all founded by X'ers)
But OK, I never said all boomers were bad and Yeah Bill Gates over all has done a good job for society, There are always exceptions to the rule just like there were cowardily pacifist in the WWII generation,
There are postives and negatives in every generation
In the WWII, Silent, Gen-X and most other generations in American history the positives outshine the negatives, However with the Baby Boomers it is mostly all Negatives (And huge Negatives at that) with the positives being few and far between.

That alone was enough to garner me a several-hundred-word rant about the raw brilliance of Generation X, how they've all changed the world for the better (yes, single-handededly inventing the "Information Age"), and how I'm just jealous because I'm an aging, bitter boomer. I haven't yet bothered to tell him I'm 33. I have never seen somebody hate their generation as much as you. I think you have been hanging out at way too many Elistist Boomer cocktail parties where they pat themselves on the back on how they are enlighten the world and how the other generations are uneducated simpletons or screw ups because they don't follow their "Do what I say, but not as I do" offerings.
I really wish more baby boomers were like you, Maybe then they would realize the mess they made and would want to at least try and fix it.
BTW, We are the same age. So I have seen the slow transfer of power to the baby boomers and how the country has just keeps getting worse and worse because of it.

It's heart-warming to know that they didn't spend a single penny on you going ot charm school, or appreciation class. I'll bet you had to pay your own bus fare to kindergarten too.

I don't believe the X-ers are the majority of voters. However they are the product of Baby Boomers so what do you expect ? It was the Boomer soccer moms that are given the credit for Clinton but it was us angry white X'er males that get the credit for the Republicans taking over congress.

The sarcasm is really unnecessary, Bernard. I don't owe my parents anything for having raised me (If you could call my upbringing "raising" children). They didn't pay for my college, so please tell me why I should help them in their retirement when I have my own student loans and retirement to fund?
