While Facism may work for a while to prop up the economy, still seems to me China is on the verge of an internal political disaster.

Facism is also not sustainable in my opinion.

I think there was a Governor Lamb of Colorado who once said seniors had an obligation to "hurry up and die" when they were no longer productive.

Fascism is where the state can make you work ---and you work for the state.

No, Fascism preserves the veneer of private ownership but dictates the terms of business.

Rather than nationalize the means of production, Fascists nationalize the terms and results of production.

By rewarding those favored by the state with the fruits of the market, fascists preserve incentives but still can engage in social engineering and limited wealth redistribution.

how the hell are the leftists and socialists who are anti-gun, anti-military, anti-war, going to fight it?

At that point, the leftists will most like get guns supplied to them by their Communist friends ---international Communists.

They say the same thing about us.

The best defense is to stay productive. I intend to, I'll follow in my grandfather's footsteps --or beyond, he didn't retire from full time work until he was 84.

Well ---I would not have liked to be one of the parasites under Hitler's rule. I don't think he favored keeping useless eaters around.

So then, can I conclude, that essentially, the U.S. is also mostly Facist?

Facism is also not sustainable in my opinion.

I would argue America has been economically fascist since FDR. I think the primary Chinese economic threat is they are better fascists than we are. After all, Red China has a fiscal burden of government 2X lower than the "capitalist" USA. As America becomes increasingly democratic, the mob will vote themselves more bread and circuses. China won't have this problem.

Corporatism-Socialism for the bourgeois

Fascism make Socialism economically viable and it works very very well. Just look at China.

China wasn't so economically viable until we gave it so many jobs and all our trade. It's almost that extreme Capitalism needs Fascist Socialism and vice versa. It's interesting the Capitalist corporate greed actually found Communist labor to be the best thing it could have asked for.

An awful lot of the Boomers I know aren't saving any money for retirement because they are still supporting their 20 something children who won't leave home a get a job.

If a boomer is supporting a 20 year old who won't get a job, that's because they must want to be doing that. It's easy ---just don't give the kid any money and he'll find something to do fast enough. The reverse might be true too.

America is far more socialist than China. I've seen the Chinese forcibly remove tax collectors from their markets. Americans have twice the tax burden but never even dream of laying hands on a IRS Lord.

The liberals are getting many "_____" (insert your favorite boogey man here) accustomed to the idea that they are entitled to certain things.

You're really right about this not being generational. There are many Gen X'ers and Gen Y'ers who don't want mom and dad spending their inheritance on the pills. The last thing they'd want to see is the house be sold by it's owners to pay for their healthcare and other needs. As long as they can get the taxpayers to do that, then they won't have to worry about what doesn't get into the will.

Yes. If China even has a welfare program, I'll bet it's nothing compared to what ours is. I would bet China treats it's workers better than it's non-productive classes.

I agree with you on this and woould do this in a heartbeat, but too many of these "parents" are soooo afraid their children might not love them if they do that.

Your generation indoctrinated your X'er son. You only see it now?</>

No, I saw it years ago, but we live in Washington state where he is surrounded by socialists and it is difficult to change a stubborn person's mind when everyone else has the opposite arguments.
