A democracy cannot exist as a permanent form of government. It can only exist until the voters discover that they can vote themselves largess from the public treasury.

It's a false argument to claim an entire group of people, whose only common linkage is their birth years (and even those dates we can't all agree on), all got together en masse and decided "Hey, let's go screw over everyone born after us and steal their money!"

I'm not sure anyone is claiming that ---- it's only those who expect retirement and all their health care and pills be paid for by others. Just like all blacks and hispanics aren't using affirmative action or welfare programs, not all baby boomers are on entitlement programs either.

I see your point. Perhaps what will be required is a Constitutional Convention of the States.

The liberals are getting many "_____" (insert your favorite boogey man here) accustomed to the idea that they are entitled to certain things.

If there is such a conflict, the "old geezers" will have some dumb young shits to come shoot your ass. You won't see a single old geezer to place in your sights.

Or some of the old geezers who are still working and wanting to keep their hard earned money will side with the young shits and help shoot the old socialist geezers.

Sure, if it is interpreted liberally. If it is interpreted conservatively, all this crap is clearly not authorized as a function of government by the US Constitution.

If it is subject to the whims of our rulers (the judiciary is completely isolated from the public), then the Constitution is not up to the task of protecting our liberties.

This is the very intent of the Founding Lawyers.

Many of the Revolutionaries hated the Constitution. Patrick Henry refused to attend the Con Con saying "I smelt a Rat".

The majority of the Founding Lawyers opposed the creation of Bill of Rights, and only grudgingly threw us that carefully sabotaged bone AFTER the States raised hell and refused to sign.

Think you have a right to a jury trial, LOL, try with the IRS. You only have a right to a jury trial in "criminal" cases.

Think you are free from searches and seizures. No, only "unreasonable" ones.

These are not mistakes but deliberate loopholes folks like Hamilton planted to allow for the creation of an unlimited central government capable of preserving itself even against the wishes of the people.

Well, if so, I just hope we can convince some of these young bucks on this post not to go looking for us "old geezers". If we can just get them to point there guns at the "socialists", of any age that are found.

I found Patrick Henry's response very interesting also. The Constitution may not be perfect, but it is something we can hopefully fall back on. I'm losing faith here, though... :(

Hey that's a good idea.

If we can just get them to point there guns at the "socialists", of any age that are found.

Hey, just shoot the unarmed! Conservatives arm themselves! ;-)

Its better than nothing but I'm afraid too many people assume it is adequate to secure a free society when there is overwhelming evidence that it has absolutely failed to perform this task.

Socialism has to fall at some point. It's an unworkable economy in the long run.

Actually, Plato and/or Socrates said it a lot longer ago than that.

That's funny, but it makes an interesting point.

If there is a coming 2nd American Revolution, how the hell are the leftists and socialists who are anti-gun, anti-military, anti-war, going to fight it? Seems it may be a very short war.

Fascism make Socialism economically viable and it works very very well.

Just look at China.

The Constitution is fine ---- we as a country have been ignoring it, we're allowing our leaders to ignore it.

Fascism works but it's somewhat different than Socialism. Socialism is when large portions of the society expect not to work but be provided for by the working people. Fascism is where the state can make you work ---and you work for the state. Europe, Canada, and the USA are Socialist economies ---what happens to the lazy in China?

By cultivating a completely feminized society. They've already nearly succeeded.

What percent of grade school boys are drugged with psychotropics because they aren't passive enough?

Double digits, right?
