On Thursday, July 31st, members of the LA Chapter (Hollywood Resistance Force) went to meet and talk to Darrell Issa. Issa is a good man and would represent conservatives well in CA.
He took a few questions from the audience and I was lucky enough to be one of the 4 or 5 picked. The question before me was what was going to happen if 3 or 4 pubs filed for the recall election. He said they would all get in a room and figure something out. I asked what that meeting might look like and WHOM was actually going to be deciding our candidate. Sorry to say, he sluffed it.
My only suggestion is for him to lose the tasseled Italian loafers and dark suits. I kept wanting to go up and say "So nice to meet you Michael Corleone!"...heheh.

I actually think we are obligated to support Issa for Governor.
My view is he made the recall happen. If not for him it would never have happened.
For that, if he runs, and he is running, he has earned our support.

The LA Chapter, it's members and friends, are multi talented. In addition to our street FReeping, many of us are very involved in State and local GOP groups and issue specific conservative organizations like Liberty Belles and the NRA.

Great pics and report. It's terrific that the Republicans have at least two solid candidates to replace Davis, and the Democrats can't seem to scrape up anyone of substance (unless they want to count Larry Flint).

The Hotel where the event was held is called the "Proud Bird". It is next to LAX and is a tribute to WWII flyboys, including the Tusgeegee (sp?) Airmen.

Absolutely! I wonder if conservatism is a cause or effect?

Did he talk at all about the plot by the terrorists to bomb his office? What was his take on that?

Issa is the barracuda and new kid on the block, McClintock the insider and local boy, Simon the rich kid and deal maker, Riordan the kindly and toothless grandfather and Arnie is, well, the Cover boy.

Too bad we can't get an amalgam of all of them into one candidate.
