[history]
The prosecutor in the Kobe Bryant rape case says he has slam-dunk evidence to prove the NBA superstar's guilt, it was revealed on the eve of the hoopster's first court appearance today. Eagle County District Attorney Mark Hurlbert made that strong claim in court papers arguing against making public the police affidavit written to justify Bryant's arrest early last month.

My kids want to see American Wedding-laughed out loud and then said no. The kids feel this is child abuse. All the cool parents......They are calling the child abuse hotline (as we speak).

From ESPN.com
EAGLE, Colo. -- As Kobe Bryant was just hours away from a court hearing in Eagle, Colo., more reports came to surface Wednesday regarding the sexual assault case involving the Los Angeles Lakers star.
According to several sources familiar with the case, ABC News reported Wednesday that the accuser alleged that she tried to leave Bryant's hotel room and he blocked the door.
Bryant is charged with felony sexual assault against the 19-year-old woman who worked at the exclusive resort hotel Lodge & Spa at Cordillera when Bryant stayed there June 30. Bryant, who is free on $25,000 bond, has said the sex was consensual.
ABC News was also told that examiners found evidence that the alleged victim had "vaginal tearing." Prosecutors could argue this is not consistent with consensual sex. Experts say the defense could rebut this in several ways, including that vaginal tearing could be sustained during consensual sex, or was not incurred during sex with Bryant.
Sources also say the sheriff's original arrest warrant included a misdemeanor claim of false imprisonment. The prosecutor did not ultimately include a false imprisonment claim in the charging document.
One reason may be that prosecutors do not like to give the jury the option of finding guilt on a lesser offense as a way of compromising. That does not mean they cannot include the allegation at trial.
----------------------------------------------
I can only come to two conclusions: The DA is a complete idiot, moron, bafoon - or, they have "dynamite evidence" of sexual assault. Otherwise, they would charge him for other crimes and hope to get him on something.

''What goes on in his personal life now is taking away from the game.''We've heard that line of thinking before...

Maybe if and when I have any, there'll be better shows on.

I wonder if this means one of the bodyguards has a conscious and will provide eyewitness testimony.
All I know is that the three bodyguards left for Colorado on
different day. One of them could have had some info.

I have definite beliefs about fairness in any case; and I don't see where you come up with my being one of his biggest fans. I don't even watch NBA basketball.
Would it ruin your day to point out that you seem to be one of the clucking crew that's pretty sure he IS guilty, disregarding your protestations?
As you said, there's plenty of emotion on both sides. I'm just not willing to join the "He has to be guilty because I read a story about it" group.

Am I the only one that is reminded of the morons who stand in line for a Hillary! autograph? ICK. EEEwww. I might stand in line to burn her books.
On another note-
Perhaps the only benefit from this whole sordid story is that people hopefully will become aware of how over paid and over rated sports figures are and stop contributing to the NBA's delinquency. According to Forbes NBA players average a salary of 4.3M. And then there are those endorsements. No wonder they think they are invincible.

Actually, movies are mostly better. R and NC17 movies have been box office flops (not all, but many). So for the first time in years, the studios have made some very good movies-finding Nemo and I really enjoyed the new Pirate movie- to name a couple.

Just because she was down on her luck at one time doesn't mean Kobe could not have raped her. I don't see any logic in it.

Yeah, the liberal propaganda isn't as strong as it was in movies. I watch a new movie every once in a while, but I don't watch any new serials. Seinfeld syndication is good, I'll watch that as far as serials goes. That's about it. Otherwise, it's Fox News, Discovery, Learning Channel, Travel Channel, History Channel, Nascar, Bears, and Cubs. If I could just get those few channels and a couple of movie channels, I could save a lot of money.

It sure would be easier to call your cousins than live through a abusive rape trial.
By going through an abusive rape trial, you stop the perpetrator to go on and rape again. That's the reason rapists are so bold, nobody wants to press charges.
